Jedward ‘to represent Ireland at Eurovision Song Contest 2012’
Jedward are reportedly being lined up to represent Ireland again in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

The Celebrity Big Brother twins, who rose to fame on The X Factor, finished eighth in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with their track ‘Lipstick’ – beating UK entry Blue.

They dominated European music charts following their appearance, selling 120, 000 copies of ‘Lipstick’ in Sweden alone.

Their popularity has resulted in Irish broadcaster RTÉ asking the twins to perform for a second year in a row at the 2012 contest in Azerbaijan.

“Jedward proved to be one of the most talked-about and popular acts, ” an RTÉ source told the Daily Star Sunday.

“They were such a massive hit with the media and fans that even the Eurovision organisers requested them back. Provided the song is right, then yes, Jedward will accept the offer.”

X Factor is not about talent… it should be called Freak Factor: Sheila O’Sullivan exposes manipulation at heart of the show
But by the end of the week, Sheila had reached her limit and she told Gary Barlow exactly how she felt. She recalled: ‘When we were brought on stage as the over-25s to be told they were putting through Goldie, Johnny and Kitty, everyone left on stage was really good at singing. But Gary was telling us we weren’t going through, and to keep our chins up and keep at it.

‘I couldn’t listen to him. I put my hand up and stopped him – I was not going to stand there and be patronised by him. I was calm and composed and told him I had been trying to make it for 10 years but clearly this is just the Freak Factor. The freaks always go through in the over-25 category.

‘Gary didn’t look at me. He put his head down and said he was sorry. As a credible and successful artist, I don’t think Gary would have put through Goldie or Johnny. In interviews, Gary blames Louis for the freaks going through and Louis is willing to take the flak but I don’t think the judges really have much power or control.

‘They wouldn’t let me leave after I’d left the stage. I just wanted to go home but three or four people barricaded me.

‘After I’d made the Freak Factor comment, a girl stood in the doorway and I heard one of the staff shouting at the camera to follow me. I felt like they were trying to provoke me and get me to say something that would make good television. But I wasn’t brought up that way.

‘I had tears streaming down my face. I was upset, not because I didn’t get through but because of the way I was treated. They’d no right to stop me from getting my belongings.’

X Factor 2011: Tulisa in tears as her boy band Nu Vibe are sent home after close call with former favourite Frankie
Gary Barlow was the only judge who boasted that he did not feel nervous ahead of tonight’s results on the X Factor.

It seems the Take That judge may have overestimated the female fan base for his contestant Frankie Cocozza, who ended up in the bottom two alongside Nu Vibe.

The teen’s survival performance was enough to keep him in the competition though, as only Nu Vibe’s mentor Tulisa chose to save the group.

Katy Perry ditches the latex and lollipops for a soulful acoustic performance of her new ballad on the X Factor
Her fans are accustomed to her prancing around in colourful latex costumes on a stage filled with oversized cartoon-like fruit and sweets.

But Katy Perry ditched the extravagant staging for her surprisingly paired down performance on the X Factor tonight.

Katy played her guitar and sang with two back-up singers for her new single, ballad The One That Got Away.

Kitty’s got some competition! Kelly Rowland threatens to boot out fellow X Factor diva Misha B
Kelly Rowland has showed exactly who the boss is after getting tough with her star act.

The former Destiny’s Child singer is allegedly threatening to kick Misha B out of the singing competition after the singer slated a number of the production staff.

According to reports Misha B has been berating X Factor workers and vocal coach Anne-Marie Speed.

The 19-year-old has apparently been acting arrogant since becoming a show favourite last week and Kelly has had to put her back in her place.

A source told The Sun: ‘Misha is out of control and Kelly just snapped. She told her that unless she packs it in, she’ll be sent packing herself.’

All forgiven then? Kelly Rowland gushes over her ‘diva’ contestant Misha B’s standout performance on X Factor
She threatened to kick her star contestant out of the competition for her alleged diva behaviour this week.

But it appeared as though all was forgiven between Kelly Rowland and Misha B on tonight’s episode of The X Factor.

After another standout performance by the 19-year-old singer, Kelly gushed over her rendition of Would I Lie to You by Charles and Eddie.

‘You can rub my lamp anytime!’ Camp contestant Johnny makes Gary Barlow blush with his Aladdin innuendo
It’s a family programme, but the innuendos onstage had even straight-faced judge Gary Barlow blushing and giggling tonight.

Camp contestant Johnny Robinson made a move on Barlow after his rendition of Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out of My Head.

Gary panned the Japanese-themed performance, telling the 45-year-old singer it had made him ‘sad’ that mentor Louis Walsh had turned him into a laughing stock.

‘The people who booed should be ashamed of themselves’: Kitty Brucknell silences her X Factor bullies and dazzles the judges with Alice In Wonderland-themed performance
The theme on tonight’s X Factor was love and heartache and Kitty Brucknell has certainly experienced heartache.

The 26-year-old singer wowed the judges again tonight with a rendition of Bjork’s It’s Oh So Quiet, but before that she spoke out about bullies and the reception she received on last week’s show.

‘The people who booed me last week should be ashamed of themselves, ‘ she said.

These makeovers are so X-treme! How ITV’s fresh-faced wannabes are being turned into wild-haired vamps in crazy outfits
It is an alarming new trend on the X Factor – so appalling that it has even provoked a complaint from the seemingly unshockable Kate Moss.

But it’s not raunchy guest star dance routines or the ever increasing frequency of advert breaks causing Kate and TV viewers such consternation – it’s the dreadfully unflattering makeovers the show’s stylists are imposing on their fresh-faced wannabes.

This year the hit ITV show stands accused of transforming natural beauties, including Janet Devlin, Sophie Habibis and Amelia Lily, into ‘trashy’ versions of their former selves.

Hardly toning it down! Tulisa and Kelly both bare cleavage with plunging necklines for the X Factor elimination show
After last year’s furore over Rihanna and Christina Aguilera’s racy X Factor performances, the TV talent show was supposed to be toning things down.

Despite an Ofcom ruling that ‘sexualised clothing’ was inappropriate for the show’s family viewers, there was plenty of cleavage on show from judges Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos last night.

The American singer, in particular, wore an incredibly revealing sheer black dress, which gave cameras a good view of her surgically-enhanced chest.

What happened, Kelly? After sleek appearance in red on The X Factor, Rowland makes fashion faux pas in bra-baring dress
She had earlier wowed fans in a sleek red dress as she took to the stage on The X Factor.

But, after a successful evening on the ITV show, Kelly Rowland messed things up on the fashion front when she left the television studios wearing a gaping pink dress which left her black bra entirely on show.

However, the 30-year-old singer looked delighted with her departure outfit choice, posing provocatively for the cameras in the less than attractive dress.

X Factor heartthrob Frankie Cocozza has bedded 67 girls, his proud father claims
He drew attention to himself during the X Factor auditions by displaying his behind, which had the names of previous conquests tattooed on it.

But while Frankie Cocozza, 18, says he wants to be taken seriously as a singer now that the live shows have commenced, his father is not helping his cause.

Frankie Senior has come out claiming that his teenage son has bedded at least 67 women.

Shouldn’t Frankie be getting that sort of attention? Gary Barlow hugs fan after she propositions him with a rather lewd offer
As their protégés catapult into the media spotlight, the mentors are meant to take a backseat and revel in the new generations of stars.

But Gary Barlow hogged the attention from Frankie Cocozza, Craig Colton and Marcus Collins as he was showered with attention by a female fan.

The X Factor judge, currently leading the boys category, was greeted outside Fountain Studios by a girl who had flown all the way from Paris.
