POP star Louis Tomlinson’s dad is battling liver cancer — 18 months after the singer’s mum died of leukaemia.

Troy Austin, 49, had a tumour removed in a four-hour op and is praying that the surgery has saved his life.

Louis’ mum Johannah Deakin, 43, died in December 2016 — days before he was to perform his debut solo song Just Hold On at the X Factor final.

He bravely took to the stage despite the heartache.

His gran Tina — Troy’s mum — died from a rare bone marrow cancer a few months later aged 67.

Now, Troy faces his own battle after blood tests revealed the cancerous tumour on his liver. It followed years of heavy drinking and smoking but he insists he is a changed man as he paid tribute to the doctors and nurses.

LIAM’S PAIN Liam Payne reveals being in One Direction ‘nearly killed’ him as he admits fears over going solo
The 24-year-old shot to fame on The X Factor ten years ago and found the adjustment difficult
LIAM Payne revealed being in One Direction nearly killed him as he struggled to deal with the fame of being in the group.

The singer, 24, who has gone on to launch a solo career, has backed KISS FM’s Where’s Your Head At? campaign to get a mental health first aider in every workplace or college.

Speaking of his own mental health experiences, he said: “I’ve had a few, there have been some tough times.

“When the band (One Direction) started our break I struggled with the idea of becoming famous again, it scared the living daylights out of me. Because the last time it nearly killed me, frankly. So I had to figure out a way to make it work for me – rather than me work for it.”

Rebecca Ferguson breaks silence on industry malpractice and bullying
Rebecca Ferguson, the female soul singer with the fastest ever selling debut album of the last decade in the UK, has spoken out about being bullied as a recording artist from the very start of her career, and the industry malpractice she says she has suffered and continues to suffer.

In a Twitlonger post titled ‘Statement of Truth’ uploaded yesterday (May 10), she tweeted:

‘Only very young and having dreamt of this my whole life I signed without any ‘independent’ legal advice feeling betrayed by my advisors! I wasn’t even given a moment to read through the document correctly before signing.

‘I was given an accountant, and I was also given my solicitor who was not at all independent, and they all worked together as one.

‘When I chose to close that particular chapter in my life I was pursued, I spent hundreds of thousands of pounds fighting what to me was a complete injustice.
