X Factor UK Headlines for 02/25/18

Ella Henderson and SYCO parted ways. Harry Styles won a BRIT Award for British Artist Video Of The Year.

SONY GIVE ELLA ELBOW Ella Henderson dropped from record label Syco four years after the release of debut album Chapter One
The former X Factor contestant scored a big hit with her debut album Chapter One, but the follow-up suffered continuous delays
ELLA HENDERSON has been dropped by Syco, I can reveal.

The X Factor contestant, who finished sixth in 2012, was tipped for great things after her debut single Ghost shot straight to No1.

The track sold more than 1.2million units here and more than a million in the US, while her debut album Chapter One went platinum. But four years on, the party is over.

A spokesman for the record label confirmed Ella’s exit, saying: “Syco and Ella Henderson are parting company.

“We wish Ella all the best for the future and thank her for her hugely successful contribution over the years.”

My sources say bosses lost faith in Ella as her follow-up album hit delay after delay.

Liam Payne producer Steve Mac has high praise for his upcoming album: “It’s going to be hit to hit to hit”
Steve Mac also talks about his upcoming projects with Katy Perry, Years & Years and Chvrches.
The music producer behind Top 10 hits for Ed Sheeran, Clean Bandit and Liam Payne has shared details of the latter’s upcoming debut album.

Steve Mac, winner of this year’s Best British Producer prize at the BRIT Awards, produced Liam’s Strip That Down and also co-produced Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You, now the most streamed song of all time. Both songs are battling it out for Best British Single at the 2018 BRITs.

So, how good is Liam’s upcoming album sounding? Steve shared some details with Music Week: “Do you know what, I’ve heard a lot of his stuff and I think it’s going to be a great album,” he said. “I think it’s going to be a compilation album. I wouldn’t say it’s a body of work that will flow, but what I like is that it’s going to be hit to hit to hit. And in my world, those are the best albums.”

Liam himself recently described the upcoming collection, which doesn’t have a release date yet, as a “playlist”, adding: “[It’s] my favourite playlist of songs that I have made over the past year. So, some slow jams, there’s a couple of dance songs on there, with some R&B stuff.”

Review: The X Factor Live 2018 at Manchester Arena
‘It was only when winners Rak-Su literally bounced onto the stage one by one that the audience was truly bouncing too’
The TV show might have ended last year, but for many the true finale only comes with the live arena tour.

It’s become a regular gig in the Manchester Arena calendar and judging by the crowd, its popularity hasn’t faded.

This year the seven acts from 2017’s final were here in Manchester for one night only as part of their tour, which is also stopping off at Liverpool, Birmingham, Newcastle, London and more.

And they were certainly determined to leave an impression on our city.
