American Idol season 10 winner Scotty McCreery hit a few milestones this week.
He released a new song, “Home in My Mind” from his March 16 album release, Seasons Change. The singer also announced that he and his family will appear on the ABC game show, Celebrity Family Feud. And to top it all off, his current single, “5 More Minutes” has hit No. 1 on the Country Airplay Chart.
Check out the new song “Home in My Mind” right here. Scotty tweeted a snip of the lyrics, “I’m goin’ home in my mind, cruisin’ by them Carolina pines. Takin it slow, doin’ 35 down Timber Drive, I can already feel your hand in mine…” The sweet ballad sounds like another song about his fiancé, Gabi.

And on Friday, Scotty tweeted some great news, along with a congratulatory video. “Five More Minutes” is No. 1! It’s the singer’s first No. 1 single.

And last but not least. Scotty posted a photo of himself and his family competing on the ABC game show, Celebrity Family Feud. No details yet! But this is intriguing. Not only is Scotty promoting himself, but ABC is promoting their American Idol reboot by featuring past alums on the network’s other properties. I wonder if other alums will show up on the network and if so, where?
Scotty, his father Mike McCreery his grandma (oh boy. Gotta love grandma!) and Gabi are on his team. Looks like fun.
