X Factor 2013 champ Sam Bailey confirms rush released covers album
X Factor winner Sam Bailey has confirmed her debut album will be out in the Spring.

The singer will be rushed into the recording studio after Christmas and New Year to begin recording.

Unlike more recent winners, Sam won’t be waiting a year to release her record and will instead record covers of songs.

It’s the exact opposite of the plan that her mentor Sharon Osbourne and fellow judge Gary Barlow had suggested.

Sharon Osbourne is said to be “livid” with Simon Cowell over plans for a “cover album” for Sam Bailey.

This year’s X Factor champ confirmed yesterday that her record was already being set for release in the Spring.

She previously said it wouldn’t be a rush job full of covers, commenting: ” “It wouldn’t be a case of rushing it. I don’t want to do a cheesy album with loads of covers, I want to do something a bit different.”

But yesterday Sam admitted most of the tracks would not be original, although she insisted they would be feel like “new songs”.

Sam Bailey might’ve just won a £1million recording contract through Simon Cowell’s brainchild The X Factor, but it’s not the first time the 36-year-old singer has tried to win over the music mogul.

It’s been revealed that prison officer Sam was a member of a ska duo called Girls Next Door who performed for Simon when 17 years ago.

The two 18-year-old girls were turned away by Simon after recording a single called Too Late because they weren’t on television or celebrities.

X Factor winner Sam Bailey had been secretly mentored by PR guru Max Clifford for years before entering the singing competition, it has emerged.

The 36-year-old, who snared a £1million record deal through the show, even performed at the consultant’s 70th birthday celebrations after he discovered her in a Cotwolds pub.

Clifford, who is due to stand trial for sex offence charges next year, ‘opened doors’ for the former prisoner officer who had previously been rejected by the X Factor in 2007.

The 36-year-old from Leicester, impressed the rugby fans with her powerhouse voice as she sung on the Twickenham pitch for the Aviva Premiership rugby match on Saturday.

One Direction score the fastest selling music DVD/Blu-ray in British history as This Is Us debuts at Number 1 on the Official Video Chart.

One Direction’s This Is Us has gone straight in at Number 1 on the Official Video Chart, and in doing so has set a new record for the fastest selling music DVD/Blu-ray title in British history.

Despite only being released last Thursday (December 19), nearly 270,000 copies of This Is Us were purchased in the UK during its first three days on sale, beating the record set by Michael Jackson’s This Is It in 2010 by 10,000 copies.

It was the end of an era for JLS on Sunday night, as Marvin Humes, Aston Merrygold, Oritse Williams and JB Gill performed their final concert together.

And in the audience watching the musical farewell were fellow X Factor alumni Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne, who paid tribute to the boyband after the show.

But it was Niall who seemed to be caught most in the emotion of it all, as he tweeted: ‘Jesus! That was an emotional one last night! tears were flowing all round! congrats to the jls lads. What a career! Love u boys. [sic]’.

He’s pretty much got the world at it’s feet but One Direction star, Niall Horan is feeling pretty upset right now because he’s struggling to get home in time for Christmas.

The heart-throb was planning to head back to his hometown of Mullingar in Ireland, to spend the festive season with his family but is finding it difficult to get a flight from London due to a storm.

The 20-year-old took to Twitter to vent his frustration after spending Sunday night at The O2 to where he watched JLS’s final concert with his girlfriend Barbara Palvin.

Simon Cowell has already admitted he will return to the UK X Factor at some point in the near future, after signing a new three year contract for the show.

And now the TV mogul has also hinted that he wants singer, Cheryl Cole to come back to the judging panel next year, telling LBC 97.3 that he will ‘find a way’ to work with her again.

Cowell told the radio station: ‘She was a really, really good judge. I mean, she took what she did seriously.

Dannii Minogue could be back on the X Factor alongside Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole next year.

Insiders say ITV bosses want to revive the judges’ panel of 2008-10 when the show was most successful.

Cowell, 53, has admitted there was chemistry between him and both women.

A 2012 biography claimed the music mogul had an affair with “foxy” Dannii , 42, and was “played” by Cheryl Cole, 30.

A TV source said: “Dannii is still very popular in the UK and many people at ITV feel the return of Sharon Osbourne this year was positive and would like to do the same with Dannii.

Cheryl Cole is expected to return to The X Factor next year in a dramatic U-turn, insiders have revealed to The Mail on Sunday.

Show boss Simon Cowell sparked fresh speculation about Cole’s reappearance in a radio interview last week by saying he would like to work with her again.

Cowell is also likely to be back on the panel after three years of working on The X Factor USA.

Cole’s return is confirmation that the pair have patched up their friendship after a bitter public fall-out in 2011, when she was axed from X Factor USA after just a few days.

But it may also be a sign that tycoon Cowell, 54, realises the ITV show needs a boost after this year’s series fell behind BBC1 rival Strictly Come Dancing in the ratings.
