‘One Direction: This Is Us’ Extended Cut Coming Soon
Can’t get enough of One Direction? You’re in luck.
Banking on young fans’ insatiable appetite for anything related to the British pop band, Sony is releasing an extended version of the concert doc “One Direction: This Is Us.”
The film will hit theaters on Friday, Sept. 13, Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing and Distribution chairman Jeff Blake announced Monday.
The longer version will feature 20 minutes of new footage and four songs not previously in the concert doc.

One Direction are heading home in the extended fan cut of their Morgan Spurlock-directed flick, “This Is Us.” And we don’t just mean they are heading back to the towns they grew up in. In the new clip, 1D hang out in the empty “X Factor” U.K. studio, where they first met in 2010.
In the sneak peek of the new version of the movie, out Friday, the group heads to the “X Factor” stage in London. While there, they sit at the judging panel table and reflect on the experience on the show right before exploding into global superstars. Niall Horan shares, ” ‘X Factor’ feels like so long away and so much has happened in the last few years.”

One Direction are working with Pharrell Williams on new material.
The ‘Get Lucky’ star revealed that he is in talks to write songs for the boyband’s third studio album Midnight Memories, which is released on November 25.
“We are definitely talking. From what I’ve heard of their new stuff I’m pleasantly surprised. Their new stuff is definitely a progression and an elevation. I will hopefully be getting involved as we are definitely in talks,” Williams told the Sunday Mirror.
“I don’t think some people realise how hard those boys work. There is so much more that goes into One Direction than just the band. They are a brand and are huge. They are incredibly hard-working. I’m sure it will excite our female fans if we’re on a record together.”
Simon Cowell added: “I spoke to Pharrell about working with us on something. I’ve known him for a long, long time and he was saying to me that it’s just unbelievable what’s happening with him.
