Matt Cardle ‘checks himself into The Priory after becoming addicted to prescription drugs’
Singer Matt Cardle has checked himself into The Priory clinic after becoming hooked on prescription drugs.
The X Factor winner, 30, entered the rehab centre on Sunday for a 28-day programme, in order to ensure he’s at full health for the start of his tour in April, according to The Sun.
The paper reports he began using the medication – temazepam and Valium – in order to cope with the stress of working on his last two albums, without the support of a record label after he parted ways with them.

The former X Factor winner posted an image of a handwritten letter on his Instagram page as he saw in 2014.

The third record from the popband received a late surge in sales to secure it’s place at the top of the end of year chart, according to the Official Charts Company.
Midnight Memories racked up almost 700,000 sales in just five weeks since it’s release on November 25th.
