X Factor UK – Boot Camp – Part 1

ETA: Check out the videos from TheXFactorUK’s YouTube channel!

We survived this year’s auditions and it’s time for the BOOT CAMP!

Reportedly many will be sent home by the judges before even singing, so get ready, because this will be brutal!

186 acts made it to the boot camp, but only 32 will remain in the end.

Welcome party for the hopefuls in a posh hotel! But on the other side of London, the judges are coming together to re-view the tapes and send some hopefuls home immediately. The judges select 40 acts. “Bye bye!” says Gary Barlow. The most brutal boot camp in X Factor history!

After breakfast, the judges deliver the bombshell. The contestants are divided into 4 groups. One goes home! Bye!

First challenge: The acts will be put into groups and each group will sing one of the six songs on the shortlist:

  • You’ve Got the Love (Florence + The Machine)
  • Breakeven (The Script)
  • Price Tag (Jessie J)
  • Born This Way (Lady Gaga)
  • Forget You (Cee Lo Green)
  • Firework (Katy Perry)

After brief rehearsals, the contestants travel to Wembley to perform for the judges.

Ugh, these performances mostly sound like a mess, but it looks like the judges will be able to pick good from the bad?

Kitty Brucknell and Honey Shazab fight for the same part of the song! Frankie ozzes charisma? Oh really? Janet Devlin gives Gary chills. Johnny Robinson and Lizzie forget the words … How can you forget lyrics to Firework or Born This Way?!

Omg, Goldie Cheung is this year’s WAGNER … and Louis Walsh loves her! She will make it to the live shows!

The Keys, Jade Richards seem pretty good … And it’s over. Wow, that was brief.

Next morning, the judges get down to business. So, who likes who, who stays, who goes? Oh, Gary is worried about the groups. Surprise, surprise!

It’s time for the results … Ah, so all this wasn’t about the singing, the judges were looking for star quality, who stands out? Right.

Some of the rejects are called back. Time to manufacture (They call this workshop?) a few groups!
Gary leaves and the remaining three judges face the rejects. The judges will put the rejects into groups based on who looks good together? Fantastic. [/sarcasm] But hey, this certainly worked out amazingly well with One Direction, so maybe there is hope!

Tomorrow we will see the new groups and acts will perform in front of an audience to get into TOP 32 (8 acts in each of the 4 categories).
