X Factor UK – Auditions Week 4

Check out this week’s X Factor UK performances.  I also added two performances from X Factor Xtra.

There were two do-overs today on X Factor.  Tom Richards sang The Script’s “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” and “This is the Moment” from Jekyll and Hyde with a beautiful tone. But I agreed with Simon–he’s not pop star material.  Both performances were weirdly affected.  Tom almost didn’t go through, until Louis talked the guest judge, Pixie Lott, into changing her no to a yes (That was totally staged).

Louis also came to the rescue of  Paije Richardson, who didn’t impress the panel with his rendition of “Fly Me To The Moon”–except for Louis, who felt he was a brilliant jazz singer. I don’t know about that, but I would have said yes.  Still more fake drama, I think.  Louis convinces the panel to let him audition again, and he kills with “It’s a Man’s World”, and he’s through.

The first auditioner, Kash Dholliwar was totally redic. And Bun ‘nd Cheese was a total trainwreck, but I didn’t find them as fun as Simon did.

I have mixed feelings about Nicolo Festa. He seemed like a poor man’s Mika to me, but the panel was charmed and they let him through.

The Xtra contestants:  Baba Badoo was a nice surprise. He’s really never sung in front of an audience before? Really? Katie Smith was pretty good for a Colbie Caillat knockoff. Only 17, she hasn’t found her own style yet.  The judges liked her.

Did you watch? What do you think?
