This Sunday, X Factor New Zealand Judges, Ruby Frost, Daniel Bedingfield, Melanie Blatt, and, Australian Idol winner, Stan Walker, head to Judge’s Retreats (renamed version of Judge’s Houses) to choose the top 12 from the top 24.
Here are some contestants to look for in the Judge’s Retreats round, with real potential to go all the way.
Cassie Henderson is a-freaking-dorable and killed it during the Bootcamp rounds to make it to the final 24. She is young, but I feel like that sweet innocence plays to her advantage, because there is definitely an artist hiding in there.
Whenua Patuwai didn’t blow me away in the Bootcamp rounds, but his audition of “A Change Is Gonna Come” definitely shows promise. His true strength is his completely unabashed genuineness.
I wanted to show you performances the auditions from Aotea Beazley, Anabac, Moorhouse, L.O.V.E, Grace Ikenasio, Anna Wilson, Fletcher Mills, Liam-Kennedy Clark, and Eden Roberts, but the Youtube channel for X Factor NZ is especially stingy. Hopefully once the show starts it won’t be like that, either that or I have some major uploading to be doing in my near future.
The Youtube channel did have these snazzy videos for the Judges and I thought they were legit, so definitely watch them as well.
Daniel Bedingfield‘s mega-hit, “Gotta Get Thru This”
In love with this Ruby Frost song, “Water to Ice”
Melanie Blatt‘s band All Saints with their hit, “Never Ever”
Stan Walker‘s coronation single, “Black Box”
What do you think of Cassie and Whenua? How about the panel? I love smaller countries judging panels, because you can really get so unexpected combinations that are truly awesome.
