The X-Factor 3- Someone Wins!- Live Blog And Discussion

Tonight, Tim Olstad wins The X-Factor. Join me!

Seriously. ANYONE. COULD. WIN.
We are treated to a light show. This is fun.

The Top 13 Sing One Love. It’s pretty awful. Everyone is wearing white, like they’ve all died, and are angels ascending to heaven now. Josh Levi was eliminated too early. He should have at least gotten to 4th place.

Mario asks the Top 3 what winning would mean to them. As if we don’t know.

A package making fun of Paulina.

Christmas Song #1) Carlito Olivero-
Carlito performs right after two guys breakdancing. What an odd choice. I don’t think a Christmas album is in his future. The staging is really terrible. His singing isn’t awful, it’s not a little aggressive for Christmas music.

Carlito clearly had no idea about the Honda package. It’s friends and family giving their wishes. Carlito is fighting tears within like 15 seconds, but he’s fighting it.

Mary J Blige performs Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer. It’s cool. Much better than I was expecting from Mary. She does a little light scat.

A montage of Kelly complimenting cute guys.

Christmas Song #2) Jeff Gutt
Not my cup of tea. Also, pitchy. He scoops into a lot of the notes. I would not have chosen this song for him. Jingle Bell Rock or something. I don’t know. This isn’t working for me. I’m glad this wasn’t last night…

Jeff thanks Kelly. Kelly praises Jeff. The Honda package. How long will it take for Jeff to cry? Apparently everyone rides horses. Jeff is holding up much better than Carlito. When his mom starts talking, Jeff starts fighting back tears. Honestly, Jeff’s dad almost made ME cry. That was beautifully said. Jeff loses his shit when Talon starts talking though. Sobbing on stage.

Christmas Song #3) Alex and Sierra
I really wanted them to sing Baby It’s Cold Outside, but I guess this is OK. I think they missed out on an opportunity. I’m not a fan of this arrangement either. I’m not a Grinch, I just didn’t like any of the three arrangements. Honestly, Carlito’s was probably the best, thinking back.

Alex and Sierra thank Simon. Simon thanks Alex and Sierra.

Honda package. Sierra cries immediately. She’s shaking she’s crying so hard. Alex starts to cry when his grandparents start to talk. Really emotional package.

Package about what Demi drinks. Demi looks offended. Annoying Juice. She’s offended. Demi has been through rehab, so that was a potentially big misstep on the producers part. She handles it well when Mario asks her though.

Lea Michele performs. I love it. I love hearing singers that can sing without auto tune. She also sounds like she’s singing live.

Mario interviews all the moms.

A package about what this would mean to the top 3 acts if they were to win. Just in case you didn’t know.

Results. Time to find out who is in third place. The third place act is… Carlito Olivero. A package showing Carlito’s journey. Either Jeff or Alex and Sierra has won the whole thing. We’ll find out in less than an hour.

Mario asks the acts what is going through their mind. STOP ASKING THE ACTS WHAT IS GOING ON EVERY 10 MINUTES.

A montage of horrible auditions.

Leona Lewis performs a Christmas song. Leona talks about how amazing it was to win.

A package of incredible moments.

An international star! Pitbull! (he’s not being forced to sing a Christmas song). Too bad that they couldn’t also get Ke$ha. Pitbull is performing live, at least.

A package about what kids think about Simon. They think he’s mean, and he’s going to be on the naughty list.

Alex and Sierra duet with Jeff. This is the best thing any of the acts have sung tonight. Love this.

The CEO of Sony Music can’t wait to work with the winner. A life changing contract. Obviously, not the same contract that Melanie or Tate got.

One Direction performs! They’re not singing a Christmas song. And they’re singing live! Yay!

I’m feeling some results coming up…

So dramatic. The Top 2 return to the stage.

The Winner Is……….Alex and Sierra.
Jeff Gutt takes 2nd place.

Alex and Sierra try to sing Say Something I’m surprised that Alex didn’t propose. The Top 13 Rush the stage and hug Alex and Sierra. Confetti. The guy from Restless Road is even crying.

Welp. That’s it for me this season. We’ll see what MJ has me blogging in the Spring. Hopefully you enjoyed my blogging!
