Although Jeff Gutt seemed to clearly win last night with three strong performances, Alex & Sierra continue to rule iTunes. Jeff doesn’t show up on the chart until 79, while I could not find Carlito Olivero in the Top 300.
Alex & Sierra were not at their strongest last night. Their “duet” with Leona Lewis was pretty much a trainwreck. Jeff triumphed on all 3 performances, and there’s that TRIUMPHANT RETURN + LAST CHANCE + ADORABLE KID DEPENDING ON ME triple threat backstory he’s got going on. Plus he’s a cute rocker that plays guitar. It seems hard to resist.
Also, Dial Idol predicts Jeff Gutt will win. Sort of. All three contestants are still in yellow, which means it’s too close to call. At this point is it time to call Dial Idol completely irrelevant? The votes are tallied from people who have downloaded the software onto their computers and are USING A MODEM. Who even has a modem on their computer any more?
Still, I can’t discount Alex & Sierra’s total domination on iTunes. I posted all performances that are currently charting just to show how strong their presence is versus their competitors. It’s overwhelming.
Therefore…
My prediction: Alex & Sierra will win X Factor 3. Jeff Gutt will be the runner up. Carlito Olivero will come in third. Not that it matters. Simon will sign and promote who he wants.
