X Factor 1 – Top 4 Results – Videos and Recap

THE X FACTOR: Top 4 to 3 Elimination: L-R: Chris Rene, Marcus Canty, Melanie Amaro and Josh Krajcik perform on THE X FACTOR airing on Thursday, Dec. 15 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. CR: Ray Mickshaw / FOX.

Marcus Canty is eliminated.

Melanie Amaro, Chris Rene, Josh Krajcik advance to the final.

That was anti-climatic.  It would have been a true shocker if anyone BUT Marcus had gone home tonight.

LA Reid threw Marcus under the bus so bad last night, forcing him to sing a cheezy Vegas version of “Careless Whisper”. So it was funny to hear him tell his least favorite boy that he believed in him and would always be there if he needed him.

Next week, we’ve got the Old-fashioned Diva, The Classic Rocker and The Reggae Rapper.  I suppose any of the 3 could take it, but I’m thinking it’s going to be one of the boys.   After all the bragging from Simon about how different X Factor is from Idol, it would be funny if the throwback singer, Josh won the 5 million dollars.  That’s plenty of dough to market Mr. Krajcic to Adult Contemporary. Ha.

Live blogging the Top 4 Results right here.   Nicole Scherzinger and Florence + the Machine are the musical guests.

Who will advance to next week’s final? Melanie Amaro, Chris Rene, Josh Krajcik or Marcus Canty? Only 3 will survive.

There’s NO sing off this week.  America chooses the person going home this week.

30 million votes came in last night. It’s the first time they’ve announce the number of votes on the show.

The Top 4 group number is  No Diggity by Blackstreet

Pointless recap is next!  Marcus Canty under bus throwing is first, Chris Rene not singing a song, yet getting fantastic critiques is next and then clips of Melanie’s family watching her from backstage. Josh is back stage hugging Nicole. Oh. There’s Marcus looking silly singing disco,  and then Simon calling Chris “a dark horse”, Melanie hitting that high note and we end with Paula crying over Josh.

Simon watched the show back and says he’s happy with what he saw. Paula’s favorite performances were from Josh. She’s also impressed with the “transformation” of Chris Rene. Nicole likes the boys too. LA is a little bit nervous for his guys.

Tonight’s results should be anti-climatic.

Back from break, Steve Jones interviews the mentors and their charges back stage. There. Is. So. Much. Time. To. Fill.

Florence + The Machine are next, with a pre-taped performance of “Say My Name”.

After more filler we have…some results.  The first act to go through is Chris Rene. The second is Melanie Amaro.

Josh Krajcik and Marcus Canty wait to hear if they are going to the finals.

Nicole Scherzinger sings “Pretty”. Trying to make this woman happen is a pointless exercise. OMG Simon uses Nicole’s “Goofy speak” to “critique” her performance.

More results! Josh Krajcik and Marcus Canty take the stage. Steve says the remaining aren’t necessarily the bottom 2.

The third act going into the finals is JOSH KRAJCIK

Marcus Canty is going home. He says it’s not the last time we’ll be seeing him. They ALL say that!  Mentor, LA Reid says he’s a little sad, and that he’s a star, a great singer and has his support.  Support? Like last night when you threw him under the bus with that trainwreck arrangement of “Careless Whisper”?

After his goodbye package runs, Marcus shouts, “It ain’t over yet! It’s not over!”  Well, you’ll be back for the final, Marcus. But then after that? Yeah, it’ll be over.

Steve introduces YOUR Final 3-Melanie Amaro, Chris Rene and Josh Krajcik
