When Does Dancing with the Stars Start? ABC Fall 2019 Premiere Dates

ABC has set fall premiere dates for its new and returning series for the 2019-2020 season.  Kicking off the season for the Disney network is the long-awaited return of Dancing with the Stars. The 28th season of the veteran dance competition will premiere on Monday September 16 at 8 pm with a brand new slate of stars ready to put on their dancing shoes.

Last season, fans complained that the best dancer didn’t win. American Idol mentor and country radio DJ Bobby Bones is an engaging personality, but is not so light on his feet. That, coupled with falling ratings means there will be changes to the format.

Host Tom Bergeron has been hinting about changes on social media. He wrote cryptically on Twitter, “Here’s a hint: Everything old will be new again.” A fan asked “All stars?” And Tom answered, “Nope.”

Tom is also hinting changes to the scoring system. Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli will return to judge, but we won’t “see those 10 paddles in awhile.”

For Dancing with the Stars season 27 last fall, Erin Andrews co-hosted while Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli sat on the judges panel.
