American Idol judge, Harry Connick Jr, dropped by the Ellen Degeneres show to promote the new season of American Idol. Notably, the segment opened with a glimpse of Nashville hopeful, Loren Lott, auditioning for the judges. The singer’s audition airs tonight (1/8/15).
After chatting about his holiday, and how he and his family celebrated the New Year, Harry got down to discussing American Idol. Ellen is a friend of Harry, and she doesn’t think the judge is as “mean” as last season. Harry stresses that there were more talented people who came through the door this season.
Harry really hates the joke contestants and is glad Idol is now steering clear of them. The talent is so good, that at one point, the judges had unanimously passed through ten contestants in a row.
“This is an amazing year,” says Harry.
American Idol continues its two night premiere tonight (1/8/15) at 8/7c PM on FOX.
