With Kelly Clarkson up for a Grammy (Best Pop Song for “Love So Soft” which she lost to Ed Sheeran BOO) The Voice released its first totally Kelly-centric promo!
The American Idol OG winner will make her debut as The Voice coach on the upcoming season 14, premiering on NBC Monday February 26.
In the 60 second clip, fellow coach Blake Shelton tells the studio audience that Kelly is “one of the greatest people I’ve ever met.” But that doesn’t mean he won’t make her life miserable. “Welcome to my world of pain,” gripes Blake nemesis, Adam Levine, as Blake trolls Kelly. And it’s probably not for the first time.
“I would really love to do for someone on this show what was done for me,” Kelly tells a hopeful. Speaking of which–there are glimpses galore of the upcoming talent! As far as tapings go, the Knockout rounds will begin filming on February 5, which should reveal a Top 20.
Returning coach, Alicia Keys will no doubt feel solidarity with her fellow female panelist. However, the two bonding won’t get in the way of the competition. “She turned so fast, I got thrown off my game!” Alicia exclaims in her quest to land a team member. “And I’m gonna win!” Kelly declares. Miss Independent is coming for y’all, for real.
