Kelly Clarkson was on hand at Sunday night’s (Jan 12) Critics Choice Awards presentation, which aired on the CW network.
The American Idol alum and The Voice coach handed out the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series to Bill Hader for Barry. But since Hader wasn’t in the house to pick up his award personally (“He got called for a last minute hit,” joked Kelly.) Kelly took the statue backstage. “I’m going to pretend that I won!” she said.
Prior to the announcement of the nominees, Kelly got candid about her preferences. “I personally love Eugene Levy. I love you! Schitt’s Creek is the jam!” Realizing she might have hurt some feelings, Kelly added “Everyone else is good too! I have a lot of kids, and I don’t get to watch a lot of television…”
Later, the Schitt’s Creek Twitter account reminded everybody that actor Dan Levy was an extra in a Kelly Clarkson music video!
LOVE Schitt’s Creek! And the Dan Levy throw back is AMAZING ?? https://t.co/4XcyExSkK3

Additionally, The Kelly Clarkson Show was nominated for Best Talk Show. But she was up against a bunch of nighttime heavy hitters. The category ended in a tie between The Late Late Show with James Corden (CBS) and Late Night with Seth Meyers (NBC).
