Walking Dead, Big Bang Command Higher Ad Prices than American Idol

Look what show is at the top of the advertising heap! The Walking Dead commands higher advertising fees for a 30 second spot than all shows other than Sunday and Monday night football. It, and the massively popular half hour comedy, The Big Bang Theory,  beat both American Idol and The Voice.  This, according to a survey compiled by Variety.

The Walking Dead’s feat is even more impressive considering they run on the CABLE channel, AMC.

Check out the Top 10

  1. Sunday Night Football NBC $628,000
  2. Monday Night Football ESPN $408,000
  3. The Walking Dead AMC (package) $326,000
  4. The Big Bang Theory CBS $317,160
  5. American Idol (Wednesday) FOX $281,600
  6. The Voice (Tuesday) NBC $273,714
  7. The Following FOX $264,300
  8. The Voice (Monday) NBC $259,240
  9. American Idol (Thursday) FOX $257,926
  10. Modern Family ABC $249,025

American Idol and the Voice are running neck and neck. But if the newbie Voice continues to gain momentum, they could soon be looking at Idol in their rearview mirror.
