UPDATE: It turns out that the good news Lindsey tweeted about was NOT a spot on The Voice, but a new record deal. Read about it here.

The Voice 8 debuts in three weeks, and we have a few wee spoilers for you all. Well, actually ONE spoiler is pretty significant! This week, we’ll know so much more as The Voice Reveal day takes place. That’s when the hopefuls are given the go ahead to announce that they will appear on the show.

Our research wiz, Adam, and I will be bringing you all of those details as they are revealed. But in the meantime, our chief awesome researcher has dug up a few details regarding the upcoming season.

Remember when Jon Peter Lewis, a Top 10 contestant from American Idol season 8, competed in the The Voice 4 as one half of Midas Whale? The Mumford-ish duo earned a spot on team Adam Levine, but  was subsequently eliminated in the Knockout Rounds.

WELL, it looks like another American Idol finalist will be competing on The Voice!

Lindsey Cardinale, who was cut at the Top 12 in Season 4 is rumored to have made it as far as The Battle Rounds. Back in 2005, The Louisiana native was cut before she could earn a spot on the Idol summer tour, but was able to perform four times on the live shows.  She also stayed close friends with that season’s winner, Carrie Underwood. If this rumor is true, expect some congratulatory tweets from the country superstar when the hopefuls announce themselves this week.

Lindsey tweets:

Maybe this tweet refers to Lindsey’s Battle Round Win

In case you don’t know of, or don’t remember Lindsey, here is her Top 24 performance of “Standing Right Next To Me” by Karla Bonoff. She sang Patty Loveless’ “I Try to Think About Elvis” for the Top 20.

And at the Top 16? The dreaded “asteroid song,” by Aerosmith, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.” Except the song wasn’t so dreaded back then.

And it was finally, “Knock on Wood” during a 60’s themed Top 12 week that knocked her out of the competition.

We’ll see if Lindsey fairs better on The Voice!

Also earning a spot in the Top 48, Chandra Knudson, a returnee from Season 5! Remember her?  Adam almost picked her. “So close,” he said. Click to watch her Season 5 audition.

A couple of notes from Adam:

1- The producers are really stressing how they want a coach other then Blake to win. At the blind auditions, the coaches would say things like “Join me and we can take Blake down” etc.

2- Reports say Christina Aguilera’s team had the best Battle Rounds.

3- January 28th and 29th are when the Battle Rounds were filmed. February 11th and 12th are when The Knockouts will be taped.

4- The executive producer round before The Blind Audition is said to be brutal! Approximately for every 10 contestants at this round, one advances to the Blind Auditions.

5- Please just keep in mind that this list is all preliminary and is very much subject to change. A lot of things are up in the air now and a little unclear.

The Voice 8 with coaches, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera premieres February 23 at 8/7c PM on NBC.
