The Voice 6 – Top 10 Auditions – VIDEO

Hey guys!. So with the battle rounds upon us, I thought I’d compile a list of the top 10 auditions of the season! Keep in mind that just because a contestant had a great audition, that doesn’t mean they will be guaranteed a live round spot. Anything can change with these contestants in the Battle/Knockout Rounds

Note: these are based on which auditions I feel were the best and/or generated the most buzz

Coming in at number 10:

The Voice - Season 610 –  Madilyn Paige (Team Usher)- A Danielle Bradbury look alike showcased a quiet, yet strong vocal on Titanium. If the voices below would be considered full grown trees, Madilyn then would be a quietly blooming rose; both are beautiful in their own ways, but Madilyn hasn’t shown us everything yet. She still has room to grow. Madilyn might not have a powerful voice, but she is like a refreshing flower in the mix. I think she has a lot she can show us in the future.

The Voice - Season 69 – Kat Perkins (Team Adam)- At first, I couldn’t tell what genre of music she fit into…. then I realized I didn’t care because her voice is just so amazing! Despite performing early, she was a shinning diamond with passion behind her vocals. And can she wail! The glory notes towards the end where really what pushed her into my top 10. She might need a bit of coaching, but I think her potential must be recognized because she sounded ready and fierce. Good on ya, Kat!

The Voice - Season 68 – Kaleigh Glanton (Team Blake)- I like this girl and especially her smart song choice! Seriously, the CCR hit fit her like a glove and let her showcase her vocals without her seeming strained or being to showy or shouty. At some points her vocal even got a little gravely but then it would go soft and high. Her versatility could be useful in further rounds at the competition, but for now, her vocal was interesting enough to make my top 10 list!

The Voice - Season 67 – Josh Kaufman (Team Adam)- This guy just has something about him. When he sang in his audition, I might not have known the song, but I knew that whatever he was singing about, he meant it. His voice is a little gravelly, but I think with the right song and coaching, he can go far this season. He is what I would consider our season’s “sleeper contestant.” Lets see how he does in the battle round before we move him up into the top five bracket.

The Voice - Season 66 – Cary Laine (Team Adam)- I actually didn’t see this girl’s audition live, but I heard a lot of buzz and people talking about her, so I looked up her audition and…she is REALLY good. Cary is just a country beast with a really great voice! She should get a ton of country votes and be the token blonde of the season, but I’m okay with that because I really think she is just that good.

The Voice - Season 65 – Dawn and Hawkes (Team Adam)- Adorable duo and couple that bring to mind a similar duo that won The X Factor: Alex and Sierra. Their voices just go perfectly together and their chemistry’s authenticities can’t be denied. They might not be the strongest singers, but like past contestants have shown: less can be more. I hope they don’t stray far from the direction their audition seemed to indicate.  I just love the simple way they connected with their song. They performed it in a way that makes you just sway in your seat to the rhythm and go “awwwwwww”. However, getting to the top #1 spot now looks like an uphill battle for the adorable duo, I suggest sticking to songs like their audition (Falling Slowly would be PERFECT for them) and just using their adorable chemistry to connect with America. I hope they go far.

The Voice - Season 64 – Sisaundra Lewis (Team Blake)- Ironically, Blake’s best contestant on his team is not a country singer. That aside, girl can SANG. She is an old soul with so much ache and power behind her vocals that just after a few notes you can tell she is going to be a frontrunner. The reason she is fourth however and not higher sadly is her marketability and the fact that to most viewers, I feel she might come off as old fashioned. My advice to her in the next rounds is to go current, maybe do some Emeli Sandé or someone she can connect to. I expect her to go far in the competition, I’m excited to hear more from her.

The Voice - Season 63 – Christina Grimmie (Team Adam)- I’ll just say it now, I think Sisaundra is a much better vocalist then Christina. However, where Sisaundra lacks in fan base, Christina makes up for. In the end, Christina trumps Sisaundra and I sincerely think that with her massive fanbase, strong talent and preshow support alone, Christina has a fighting chance of making it to the end and to the confetti shower as the credits play and she barely gets to sing her new song. Her cover of Wrecking Ball let her work the stage and showcase her solid vocals and all around, she is a likeable, talented girl. With her affable personality, I think America will fall in love with her and I see her going far in this competition.

Before I reveal the top 2, I must say these two were interchangeable. They are my personal favorites and I believe are the best blind audition standouts

The Voice - Season 62 – Clarissa Serna (Team Shakira)- You have no idea how badly I wanted to put Clarissa as number one. Her vocal was my favorite audition, but I just feel like the number one audition has much more buzz going for her. Either way, Clarissa nailed Zombie, straight out nailed it. Clarissa pulled out the song from the ground, clobbered it on the head then dug it a fresh grave (aka she killed it). It’s actually the first time I’ve heard this song, which made it all the more enjoyable because I was seeing it without thinking of the original or any other covers. That all said, her control, power…everything… just everything–she is the full package. I’m gonna stop right there before I start stop making sense and just say that if I was there, I would have been standing and cheering for her.

The Voice - Season 61 – Bria Kelly (Team Usher)- From top 24 on Americas Got Talent to best audition of Season 6 of The Voice. Bria is just a beast and her song choice was absolutely brilliant to show off what she can do. Since her audition, whenever I talk to anyone about the show, all I hear is “Bria. Bria. Bria,” and I know she has a TON of fans around. When she said “guaranteed to blow your mind,” she had it right. From the first note she showcased her power, range and soul she has behind her young years, and I loved the grittiness of her voice when she sang “I’m a nap-pa-pa-palm bomb.” End of story, Bria shut it down and currently has the most going for her heading into the Battle Rounds. Here’s hoping she still has some room to grow and hasn’t just shown us everything she is capable from the start. Should she falter, a hungry contestant like Clarissa or Christina could easily swope in and take her top spot. I think at the moment, she has solidified herself as frontrunner and we just have to see what will happen next with her.

MVP from each team (most likely to last long in the competition)-
