The Voice 6 – Battle Rounds #2 – Live Blog (VIDEOS)

Live blogging The Voice 6 Battle rounds right here!

Not a lot of drama or surprises in tonight’s battles. There was only one steal tonight. After Usher chose Melissa Jimenez in a battle, Adam stole Britney Camelle.  I agreed with all of the winners, but I might have stolen Jeremy, who is a solid rock singer.

An announcement was made on Snapchat tonight while the show was airing. Chris Martin from the British rock band,  Coldplay, will be on hand this season to work with all the coaches as a “key advisor.” Whatever that means!

Team Shakira – Clarissa Serna vs. Jeremy Briggs – “Cold as Ice” – Foreigner – Jeremy has been singing this song since he was a kid. Miranda felt Clarissa has grit, but was holding back. In rehearsal there was some really sour notes from both. Don’t scream! says Shakira. Clarissa is a favorite. Will she crush Jeremy?

Jeremy is holding his own. The song seems better suited to him. Still, Clarissa won’t be denied. She’s got amazing pipes. This will be a tough battle to judge. Will there be a steal? Adam thought the end was the best part. He’d go with Clarissa. Blake was impressed that Jeremy was singing it in the same key as Clarissa. But, he picks Clarissa too. Usher gives it to Jeremy for his tenacity. Shakira thought Jeremy was out of the pocket sometimes. Maybe the performance was too dramatic. Of course, Shakira chooses Clarissa. Poor Jeremy. He didn’t stand a chance, although he put up a good fight.

Clarissa wins the battle

Team Adam – Caleb Elder vs. Delvin Choice – “The Man” – Aloe Blacc – The pair will perform a song by the mentor, Aloe Blacc. Adam says the two are as different as it gets. Caleb has the gravel, Delvin has the power. Aloe sings his song to demonstrate how to perform it. Adam says to make sure to keep the performance rhythmic. When they come back for final rehearsal, Adam and Aloe are disappointed. They hadn’t learned the song, and they weren’t keeping the rhythm. They put them through an exercise–rapping the lyrics. The next performance satisfied everybody.

This is REALLY hard song to sing. They’re both having problems. Caleb with breath control, Delvin not getting the rhythm quite right. Between the two of them, Delvin is prevailing in this fight. Blake noted their problems, but felt Caleb had MORE problems. Usher loved the higher notes, like “going to church,” he describes it.  Shakira thought the performance was fun. She picks Delvin too. Adam is proud the two tackled a challenging song. But, he chooses Delvin.

Delvin wins the battle

Time for 3 montages!

Team Blake – Megan Ruger vs. Ria Eaton – “My Happy Ending” – Avril Lavigne – Megan wins the battle

Team Shakira – Ddendyl vs. Lindsay Pagano – “I Feel the Earth Move” – Carole King – Ddendyl wins the Battle

Team Usher – Brothers Walker vs. Morgan Wallen – “Hey Brother” – Avicii – Morgan wins the battle

Team Usher – Brittnee Camelle vs. Melissa Jimenez – “Give It to Me Right” – Melanie Fiona – Usher thinks the song is perfect to bring out the aggressor in both singers. Advisor, Jill Scott, thinks Brittnee is performing from behind a wall. She encourages her to let her vulnerability show. In their final rehearsal, they both sound really good! Jill is proud of the adjustments Brittnee made. Usher coaches them to be more precise. Usher thinks they BOTH could stay on the show, but they have to work it out. It’s pretty obvious one of them will be stolen. But who will it be?

This is a really close match. It really comes down to the type of singer you prefer. Melissa hit a HUGE note which will probably win her the battle. The coaches all mention the note. They loved Melissa’s control. Usher regrets putting the two on the stage together. He’d like to keep them both. Melissa wins the battle Adam and Shakira steal Britnee. Shakira pulls the lady card. Adam pulls the “I’ve won twice” card.  Britnee, after some deliberation, goes with the proven entity. Britnee chooses Adam
