The Voice 5 Top 8 Power List

Here’s my The Voice Top 8 power list!

I’m a little torn about my rankings this week. I’m comfortable with my top 4, but I keep switching around the rest.

I think Caroline will probably be safe this week, after having a near-death experience last week.  I don’t think Ray and Will have quite connected with an audience yet, so they sit at the bottom of the list.  Tessanne moves higher on the list after a well-received performance last week.

8. Ray Boudreaux –  Team Blake – Good song selections from Blake have kept Ray in the game. But I’m not convinced he’s got a fan base at this point. However, I could be wrong and am prepared to eat my words.

7. Will Champlin –  Team Adam –  Adam clearly loves Will. He’s been given the pimp spot, and great critiques, but for some reason, he’s just not popping on The Voice stage. He’s got a good instrument, but in the end it all comes off a little generic.

6. Caroline Pennell – Team Cee Lo – After her near death experience last week, I think Caroline’s fans will rally to keep her safe this week. But, she and Cee Lo have to get it together, or she won’t be around for the long haul.

5.Tessanne Chin – Team Adam – Tessanne’s cover of “If I Were Your Woman” was well received, so she moves up the list. I still don’t see her finishing any higher than 5th or 6th. She’s a fine singer, but lacks star quality.

4. James Wolpert –  Team Adam – James made a comeback last week with a performance of the classic “Without You.”  Adam needs to think long and hard about song selection for James. He’s had a couple of misses. At this stage of the game, he can’t afford it.

3. Jacquie Lee – Team Christina – Jacquie loses some steam after missing last week with a toned down performance of  “Clarity.” I trust Christina will make the proper adjustments, allowing the young singer to come roaring back.

2. Cole Vosbury –  Team Blake – Yup. Dark horse. Cole had the highest charting iTunes performance last week. He’s definitely striking a chord with The Voice fans. Would not be surprised if he made the finals

1. Matthew Schuler –Team Christina – Matthew didn’t soar as high with last week’s “Beneath Your Beautiful” but none of the other contenders performed buzzworthy performances either. “Hallelujah” from two weeks ago continues to chart. He’s a real contender.
