I complained about Matthew Schuler’s song choice. Christina is playing is safe with her star pupil, but it seems to be paying off. Your average viewer is not yet sick of hearing singing show competitors perform “Hallelujah.” Matthew hit the Top 10 only hours after the show was over last night. By 11 am when the voting closed, he had hit #2 on iTunes. Good going dude! Needless to say, he’s safe.
Matthew also came in at #1 in the favorites poll, with Jacquie, Will, James and Kat rounding out the Top 5. I expected Kat to score a little lower, but the Top 4 are what I would expect.
My favorite performance, “Mr. Brightside” by James Wolpert didn’t sell as many iTunes as I expected. I’m biased, but even you guys ranked him higher on our poll.
Cole’s “Adorn sparked some discussion in comments last night. For a polarizing performance, he landed decently on iTunes and respectably on our poll. I think the risk certainly paid off for him.
I thought Josh Logan was in trouble after he performed last night. He’s dead last in the iTunes rankings, charting in the 100s. He’s near the bottom on the poll too. I expect he’ll be in the bottom 3 tonight, along with probably Jonny Gray and maybe Austin Jenckes. If Austin is in the bottom, America will save him, I think. They did once before.
Of course Christina is the #1 coach. She has two of the buzziest contestants on her team, Matthew and Jacquie. She could break Blake’s winning streak.
