It’s The Voice 10 semifinal week, which means brutal eliminations are ahead on tonight’s results show. Here’s how the cuts will go down: The Top 3 vote getters advance straight to next week’s final. The contestants who America voted in 4th 5th and 6th will sing for the Insta-Save, determining the 4th spot in next week’s finale. The Bottom 2 are sent home without the opportunity to sing for their lives.

Last season’s semi-finals were full of surprises, and it’s entirely possible there will be a shock or two tonight as well. I’ll try to predict the results, and if I get it right, I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

iTunes Charts as of 12 PM

Laith Al-Saadi managed to nab a spot in the Top 10 at the very last minute, and that changes EVERYTHING. Singers who earn a spot in the Top 10 have their iTunes votes multiplied by 10. As a retro blues singer, I suspect Laith is earning more online votes than iTunes downloads. I believe he’s still very much a contender.  The two singers who charted outside of the Top 10 are pretty far down the chart. I can’t imagine a scenario where either stays in the competition.

2. Adam Wakefield – Team Blake – I’m Sorry
3. Alisan Porter – Team Christina – Desperado
5. Mary Sarah – Team Blake – I Told You So

27. Shalyah Fearing – Team Adam – And I Am Telling You
71. Paxton Ingram – Team Blake – I’ll Do Anything for Love

Alisan Porter and Adam Wakefield were last night’s overwhelming favorites, with Hannah just behind them. Everybody else ranked in the single digits except Paxton Ingram who went fractional.

  7. Shalyah Fearing – Team Adam – And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going 3.47%
  8. Paxton Ingram – Team Blake – I’d Do Anything for Love 0.37%

Favorite Duet

I agree that Adam and Alisan’s duet blew away the rest. They were the only team with any real chemistry.

  1. Adam Wakefield & Alisan Porter – Angel from Montgomery 73.11%
  2. Laith Al-Saadi & Hannah Huston – Knock on Wood 13.05%
  3. Mary Sarah & Bryan Bautista – Break Free 8.65%
  4. Paxton Ingram & Shalyah Fearing – Masterpiece 5.19%

Who Will Be Eliminated? CHOOSE 4

Mary Sarah was voted 3rd in the SHOULD be eliminated poll. I’m afraid there is gonna be some disappointed folks tonight.  The votes for Paxton Ingram and Shalyah Fearing leaving tonight, combine at about 50%.

  1. Paxton Ingram – Team Blake 25.47%
  2. Shalyah Fearing – Team Adam 24.04%
  3. Bryan Bautista – Team Christina 15.49%
  4. Laith Al-Saadi – Team Adam 15.37%
  5. Hannah Houston – Team Pharrell 9.08%
  6. Mary Sarah – Team Blake 7.65%
  7. Alisan Porter – Team Christina 1.76%
  8. Adam Wakefield – Team Blake 1.14%

Who SHOULD Be Eliminated? CHOOSE 4

  1. Paxton Ingram – Team Blake 24.23%
  2. Shalyah Fearing – Team Adam 22.49%
  3. Mary Sarah – Team Blake 13.37%
  4. Laith Al-Saadi – Team Adam 13.23%
  5. Bryan Bautista – Team Christina 12.87%
  6. Hannah Houston – Team Pharrell 7.33%
  7. Alisan Porter – Team Christina 3.35%

Grade The Episode

Solid A game for last night’s episode.  High stakes make for great performances!

  • A 53.77%
  • B 37.87%
  • C 5.23%
  • F 1.88%
  • D 1.25%

Prediction: Easy call: Shalyah Fearing and Paxton Ingram are eliminated. The rest is a little tricky to predict. Adam Wakefield and Mary Sarah are in the Top 3 and advance to the finals. That 3rd spot will go to either Laith Al-Saadi or Alisan Porter. If Alisan sings for her life she wins hands down. If it’s Laith vs Hannah Huston vs Bryan Bautista, Laith would probably win the sing off. I’m basing my predictions on years past. Older retro type singers earn a ton of votes that aren’t necessarily reflected in their iTunes rankings, and men have the advantage. SO. To make a definitive prediction I’ll say: Top 4 will be Adam Wakefield, Mary Sarah, Alisan Porter and Laith Al-Saadi.
