The X Factor – Top 16 Reveal Part 2 – VIDEO and Recap

I may be in the minority, but I wasn’t too busted up when Jillian Jensen was eliminated. She is a decent singer, but most of her appeal come from her dramatic bullying backstory. As much as I hate to admit it, the annoying CeCe Frey is a good singer, and has the kind of swaggerific personality that gets contestants booted off of reality shows, but could make her a star in the pop marketplace.  I get why she’s still here.

I’m relieved that Simon let go of “Playback” the boyband he put together. They were terrible. Although, they might have been fun in a trainwreck sort of way.  His put-together girl group, LYLAS and the family country singers Sister C are both much better singers. I think a vocal group should at least be able to sing some harmonies. Just sayin.   The best of Simon’s buch is Lyric 145.  That Lyric Da Queen is a star.

Britney’s group of youngun’s are scarily precocious, yet I wonder if they’ll be able to handle the pressure in light of last year’s kiddie meltdowns. I’m not sure why Simon bothers with the Overs.  I think they are a category full of fodder, meant to be picked off sooner rather than later.

Live blogging The X Factor! LET’S TRY THIS AGAIN, SHALL WE?

So here we go again.

Here’s Last Week’s Recap

Demi Lovato’s Young Adults are first first. Some of this will be retread.

Jennell Garcia is in the Final Four

Willie Jones is in The Final Four.

This is where FOX cut in with the Mindy Project last week. But we still had Canadian spoilers.

Nick Youngerman is CUT. “I’ve got nothing at home,” cries Nick.

Paige Thomas is in The Final Four. Paige was crying, She was SURE she was getting cut.

There is ONE spot left! Will it be CeCe or Jillian? Jillian, who cried through much of her audition, says she has grown so much since her audition. CeCe can’t bear going back home to sell stamps. Her leopard spots are gone! Now she is finally feeling vulnerable. When Demi told her she was unlikable after her performance, it really had an impact on her. They are both crying as they get the news. Although Demi had a connection with Jillian during her audition, she sends her home. Jillian cries in Jennel’s arms. Demi is crying too.

And as it turns out…

CeCe Frey is in the Final Four.

Jillian Jensen is Cut

Simon Cowell’s Groups are next

Lyric 145 are up first. They are a melding of Lyric Da Queen and One4Five. Simon puts them through. He’s impressed with their performance, put together on such little notice.

Lyric 145 are in the Final Four

Dope Crisis is CUT. Not a surprise, as they had gotten the cannon fodder edit.

Emblem3 is next. They were the trio that auditioned in San Francisco. Despite screwing up the lyrics, they are in. DUDE IS SHIRTLESS.

Emblem3 is in the Final Four

OK Here’s the part NOBODY has seen yet. There are 3 groups left: The two manufactured groups and Sister C. He’s worried about their personality and likability.

Sister C are through to the Final 4.

Will the girl band, the LYLAS or the boy band Playback go through? The boys are cut. They sucked, so no loss. The girls, LYLAS are through.
