The Voice alum Meghan Linsey Releases “Everything is Fine” sharing her raw truth about mental health
Meghan Linsey’s latest single is a a powerful anthem of resilience and hope. “The whole world is burning, but everything is fine. Don’t let it break you, or steal all your shine.”, The Voice alum belts in the chorus of her newest release, “Everything Is Fine.”
Written and produced with her producer husband, Tyler Cain, the poignant lyrics, she says, were born from a dark personal struggle, and a reflection of the challenging times we all face. “I was struggling. The world was shut down, there were so many injustices occurring, riots, wildfires, the Presidential election, my mom’s cancer came back… just so many things. I’m such an empath and it was just really taking a toll on me. I was just feeling it all and I started to write it down as a poem. When I got in the studio with my husband the next day, we turned it into a song.”
“I didn’t even realize we were releasing the song during suicide prevention month until after we set the date,” Meghan said in a press statement. “But, I’m so glad we did. Mental health is so important. We don’t talk about it enough and the ones who seem to be the strongest among us are suffering.”
The late Naomi Judd helped Meghan heal
The singer credits her relationship with the late Naomi Judd, who died by suicide last year, for setting her on her path to healing. “We were close. I would go over and have long talks in her closet. Right before I started my journey on The Voice, she asked me if I had considered therapy. At the time I didn’t have health insurance. The next day she called and paid for several therapy sessions for me. She was always doing things like that.”
Meghan transformed her pain into art, and is doing so much better these days. “I just hope this song resonates with people and encourages them to seek help,” she says. “For years I felt like I was physically carrying a weight on my head. If I had known that a small dose of a mental health med would literally change my life, I would have started much sooner. I let my fear and pride get in the way. Now, I realize how brave it is to be vulnerable and admit you need help.”
“Everything Is Fine” is out now and the singer-songwriter is dedicating the track to those that lost their lives to wildfires, suicide, and those struggling with mental health. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to The Hawaii Community Foundation to help aid those displaced by the horrific fires on Maui. The singer and her husband were married on the island in January of 2022 and have a huge heart for the community.
