Surprise! Look who’s joined the likes of David Beckham, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Hemsworth, George Clooney, Brad Pitt and more as People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2017? Blake Shelton, that’s who. Best. Publicist. Ever. Somebody give that person a big fat raise.
2013’s Sexiest Man Alive, and fellow The Voice coach, Adam Levine, helped Blake make the big announcement in a video clip on the show Tuesday night before the second night of Playoffs began.
“I can’t wait to shove this up Adam’s ass,” Blake quipped to People. “As proud as I am and honored that you guys asked me, that’s really the only thing I care about.”
When he first heard the news, Blake told People, “That y’all must be running out of people,” he said. “Like, Wow, we’re down to somebody who is somewhat symmetrical.”
Gal pal and former The Voice coach, Gwen Stefani, convinced him to accept the compliment. “She goes, ‘Listen to me, you’re going to regret this for the rest of your life if you don’t take this gift and just live in the moment.”
The Sexiest Man Alive cover comes with one of People’s patented super-fluffy interviews inside. Here’s Blake sharing his secrets to a sexy physique:
“It could be 2 o’clock in the afternoon before I eat and then I realize I’m starving, so then it’s a bag of Cheetos,” he says. “And there’s a Sonic in town, they got jalapeno poppers. And then I’m not hungry again until 10 o’clock, well what’s in there? Fishsticks. And like a big pickle, those pickles that come in its own package with juice? It is really bad.”
I must say. I was not expecting that.
