The Voice UK airs tonight at 8:30pm GMT (9:30pm CEST, 3:30pm EST, 12:30am PST) on ITV 1.

Tonight, members of Team Will perform for VOTES. Viewers choose two singers and Will, chooses the third. Coach Gavin Rossdale performs. Remaining coaches Tom Jones and Jennifer Hudson stand by.

Tanya Lacey – Changing by Sigma ft Paloma Faith – She was Will’s steal. He didn’t turn around initially, but then regretted it when he learned she co-wrote one of his hits. She’s having trouble with the song’s range. Will she be able to hit the high notes? It’ a good song choice for Tanya. She has good stage presence and energy. “She looks amazing. She sounded amazing…” says Will. Gavin felt she hitted everything she needed to hit. Jennifer calls her “the full package.” Tom added “It sounded professional.”

Haley Eccles – Need You Now by Lady Antebellum – She auditioned with her dad, who did not get a turn. He’s been incredibly supportive nevertheless. Will picked a song for Haley that has a “classic rock vibe.” Her stage presence is clunky. The hand reach….just no. It’s a good song choice for her vocal style. The performance overall, though is underwhelming. Jennifer notes that she didn’t seem nervous. Her voice was “flawless.” Tom calls her voice “lovely” but it sounded like she was thinking about the song. I agree. She seemed a step removed. Gavin liked the song choice and thinks she keeps getting better and better. Will calls it “fireplace fiyah” whatever that means.

Jason Jones – Into You by Ariana Grande – Thirty two year old works at a call center. His co-workers had no idea he could sing. His audition had a 4 chair turn. Interesting song choice. The song started off ballady. I wish it had stayed that way…the arrangement with a beat seemed a little cheesy. Jason’s got a good voice and he has that “ordinary” vibe that voters love. Will calls his voice “incredible.” Tom thinks he’s gotten stronger. Tom loved the slow part–like I did. “You have your own unique smoothness,” says Jennifer. She calls his voice “unique” and “effortless.”

Lia White – Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper – The 17 year old says she trusts Will, but she’s not sure about the song. “It’s been done a lot” she says. She’d be correct. Will thinks she can make it her own. So she does a slowed up version (like THAT’s never been done before) accompanying herself on guitar. The arrangement has a bit of a jazzy island feel, but it’s forgettable. “You’re adorable!” says Jennifer, “That was the perfect song for you.” She compares her to Solange and Aaliyah. Gavin loved it and appreciated her guitar playing. Will is proud how she “reimagined” the song.

Clara Hurtado – Alarm by Anne-Marie – She was uncomfortable with the song choice. Just like Lia before her, Will did the island beat thing with the arrangement and won her over. Her stage presence could be better, and I’m not sold on the song choice, but Clara’s delivering a good vocal. Will loves her read dress “and the way you singin’.” Gavin calls Clara “the entire package. Everybody loves the dress! Jennifer calls her an “artist.”

Michelle John – I Can’t Make You Love Me by Bonnie Raitt – She’s 43 years old and a background singer. She’s thrilled with the song choice. Unfortunately, her voice gives out during rehearsal. She makes some UGLY STANK FACES when she sings. She’s got a big voice, like the diva’s of yore. The song is a real crowd pleaser. She cries as she finishes. Jennifer is waving her arm. “GORY ABOUT TO SHOUT JESUS,” she says. “This lady has a powerful voice and extraordinary range,” says Tom. Gavin admires her courage to step out front.

It’s time for UK viewers to vote, via landline, text and app. The voting window will run ONLY through the commercial break.

Next, coach Gavin Rossdale and his band Bush perform their new single “Mad Love.” The lyrics go “still got mad love for you baby. Hm I wonder who Gavin is singing about? His ex-wife Gwen Stefani, no doubt. (See what I did there?). Well dude, if you hadn’t been boinking the nanny, you’d probably still be married!

After Gavin’s performance, it’s results time! The six team members take the stage. The first singer from Team Will through to the quarter final is…Jason! He looks surprised. Will doesn’t look thrilled. The second singer through to the quarterfinal is…Michelle. Time for Will to make a decision on the last spot left. Will is taken his sweet time to choose a swinger. I suspect a producer is whispering s-t-r-e-t-c-h in his ear. There’s still a few minutes left in the show. “Hold on wait…I’m gonna let Jennifer pick.” Geez. Then he starts “Eenie Meany Miney Moe.” Finally he chooses Tanya, but nobody’s heard it. He has to repeat.

Team Will could be renamed Team Oldsters. It’s like the X Factor overs category up in here. The eliminated contestants are all teens and twenty-somethings.

Tomorrow, it’s Team Gavin and Will performs a song he wrote specifically for The Voice UK.

Results!

Advancing to the Quarterfinals:

Jason Jones
Michelle John
Tanya Lacey – Chosen by Will

Eliminated:
