In part 1 of the two part finale, the remaining four contestants will sing three songs each: An original song, a new cover and a duet with their respective coach. After viewers vote for their favorites, a winner will be announced on Tuesday’s (May 22) big finale.
Here are my rankings. What are yours?
4. Britton Buchanan – Team Alicia Keys – I am a big fan of Britton. This 18 year old singer has originality and stage presence. His covers are always creative. But having to fight for his spot in the Final Four last week puts him at the bottom of the pack. He and Spensha are fighting for the third spot. Where each singer lands depends on their performances tonight.
3. Spensha Baker – Team Blake Shelton – Just because Spensha making the final four was shocking doesn’t mean she isn’t worthy of a spot. The former gospel singer has delivered beautiful, nuanced R&B tinged country performances across the season. I think that Spensha is Blake’s favorite, but it would be difficult for her to surpass what I believe are a formidable Top 2.
2. Kyla Jade – Team Blake Shelton – Either Kyla Jade or Brynn Cartelli are going to win The Voice. Kyla began as a middle packer, but out of sheer talent and the ability to step up when it counted most, the singer has emerged as a force to be reckoned with. Her massive pipes and stage presence could be her ticket to winning The Voice season 14.
1. Brynn Cartelli – Team Kelly Clarkson – Fifteen year old Brynn possesses a remarkably mature voice and a poise well beyond her years. Her versatility and one of a kind talent could clinch the win for her. She’s been the queen of Apple streaming all season, and has terrific social media numbers. But can she and Kelly beat the mighty machine that is Team Blake? I think she can.
