The Voice Kids Version Is Heading Toward Production

Would you watch a kids version of The Voice?  According to The New York Post, The Voice, Junior version will begin production at the end of the year. Via The New York Post.

A kids version of “The Voice” is in the works at NBC.

“We are hoping [to begin production] by the end of the year,” a source close to the show tells The Post.

Casting calls were announced last week in New York, LA and Dallas for 8-to-14-year-old singers.

But the network put the project on hold just days later.

The plan, insiders say, is to film the series at the same time — and on the same stage — as the adult contest.

“There wasn’t enough time to get it together [before the upcoming fifth cycle],” the insider says.

The American Idol team produced  American Juniors in the summer 0f 2003. It didn’t prove popular and was cancelled after 1 season.

NBC is milking The Voice franchise as much as they possibly can. I’m assuming The Voice Kiddie Flavah will run during the summer months, making The Voice truly a year-round phenomenon. But when will it be too much?
