Tom Nitti posted a new song–a collaboration with fellow contestants BIAS and Lennon VanderDoes
After Tom Nitti revealed that he dropped out of The Voice for personal reasons, he posted videos of himself collaborating with a few of his season 24 competitors.
The country singer shared his latest song on Monday (Dec 4), revealing that he had finished the track, titled “One Night Stand,” while working with some of his former fellow The Voice artists, BIAS and Lennon VanderDoes.
“Wrote this tune in 2021 finished it this summer 2023 in California with some great friends @officiallybias and @lennonvmusic it’s called One Night Stand #singersongwriterlife #onenightstand #nashville #2021 #2023,” he captioned a video of himself performing the song live in a venue for tips.
Tom also shared a video of himself singing the song in harmony with BIAS and Lennon, presumably filmed back during their time together on The Voice.
Only BIAS, from Team Gwen Stefani, remains in the competition. America voted him through to the Top 9 this week. Lennon was brought back to the Playoffs by Gwen using her Super-Save, but did not survive the round.
Tom left The Voice for the sake of his family
The Team Reba McEntire member left the competition ahead of the Playoff Rounds. When it was time for her Team to perform she simply explained, “I have wonderfully talented people, but Tom had to leave for personal reasons, so I only have five artists tonight.”
The next day, Tom offered a fuller explanation of why he left the competition. On Instagram, alongside a gallery of photos of his family, including his girlfriend and two young kids, the singer penned a lengthy caption. “At the end of the day,” Tom wrote, “My kids will always come first.”
“Well, I’ve been dreading this day ever since the blind audition so here goes nothin’. …First and foremost I’m blessed beyond belief and I can’t say enough how much I love and appreciate the constant support from my fans, my friends and my family…As much as it absolutely stings to say, I had to make probably one of the hardest yet easiest decisions ever and ultimately at the end of the day, my kids will always come first and if I had to make the same decision again I’d do it over and over…..”
Tom continued, “This past summer was filled to the max with everything I love and could’ve only dreamed of. And thanks to @nbcthevoice I was able to live my wildest dreams and do what I’ve always hoped. I made friends that’ll last a life time, experiences that I can hold on to forever and even found REAL and TRUE love (@ashleybryantofficial)….”
Reba and Tom still communicate
This week, after the Top 12 performance episode, Reba told Entertainment Tonight on the Red Carpet that she has been communicating with Tom since he left the show. “We’ve been emailing back and forth and all of our hearts went out to him because he couldn’t finish the competition. He is so strong, so good,” Reba continued, “He’s going to be watching and cheering all of us on. But our hearts are with him.”
