Yesterday, The Voice 6 3rd place finisher, Christina Grimmie, officially announced her record deal with Island records and the release of her debut single.
“Must be Love” will be available everywhere on July 31.

With a nationwide audience now numbering in the tens of millions, and over 280 million combined YouTube views to her credit, pianist and singer-songwriter Christina Grimmie, Top 3 finalist this year as a Season 6 member of Team Adam (Levine) on NBC’s The Voice, joins the artist roster of the new Island Records, and will release her first new single on July 31st , “Must Be Love.”
20 year-old New Jersey native Christina Grimmie is currently performing on the sold-out 31-city The Voice Tour of the U.S. and Canada, which began last month (June 21st) at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, and runs through August 2nd at Marymoor Park in Redmond, WA. Christina, who arrived at The Voice with an independently released Top 10 EP, Top 20 album and several single releases (including the #15 Heatseeker “Liar Liar”), will continue to work on her Island debut album this summer. One track already has her collaborating with producer and co-writer Elof Loelv (whose credits include Rihanna and Icona Pop, among others) and Ana Diaz (who has worked with Britney Spears). Christina’s Season 6 The Voice highlights are also available for digital download via iTunes and other music platforms.
Christina’s accomplishments have been phenomenal in the five years since she first started uploading her own video covers of songs by Hannah Montana and Nelly, through the launch of her own YouTube channel. She has opened tours for Selena Gomez and the Jonas Brothers, appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show, and performed on the American Music Awards, where she was named Best Female New Media Honoree. Christina’s Twitter has reached more than 600,000 followers while her Facebook likes and YouTube subscribers are close to 3,000,000 each, ranking her as the fourth most subscribed YouTube music artist.
