The Voice Battles: Eric Who and Sydney Kronmiller Get Weird!

The Voice 22 Eric Who vs Sydney Kronmiller Team Camila Cabello

The Voice season 22 Battles continue on Tuesday (Oct 18) with more exciting faceoffs between team members. Check out this dramatic duet between Eric Who and Sydney Kronmiller singing Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi.” The two are vying for a spot on Team Camila Cabello.

Because his Blind Audition was montaged, it’s the first real look The Voice fans get of Eric. Sydney had Camila and Gwen Stefani turn their chairs for her impressively deep lower range.

The song is arranged as a powerful and emotional ballad. But it doesn’t keep Eric from adding a few theatrical flourishes. The two sing beautiful harmonies, ending the song holding hands. Camila practically loses her mind.

“I really loved this performance because it was SO WEIRD.”

Gwen gushes, “I really loved this performance because it was SO WEIRD. And I mean that in a good way. Like great weird!” She calls Eric “rare” adding, “Everything about you is just so theatrical…it was so engaging…Your voice is so beautiful.” She tells Sydney that her vocal style is “different than anything out there right now.” However, she could not keep her eyes off of Eric.

John Legend notes that so few people can sing as low as Sydney “and sing it really well, live especially.” He calls her performance “really remarkable.” And “the fact that you can do that and still have the higher notes in your register too–you really gave a great performance.”

“Eric, you just have a light within you,” says John. And you let it exude,” adding, “Your voice has a really cool lilt to it. It floats in a certain way. I really found it so cool to listen to.” He concludes, “both of you were phenomenal.”

Blake Shelton calls Sydney’s voice “shocking,” adding “If it came on the radio, I’d turn it up.” He adds, “And Eric comes out here like the happiest person and makes everybody happy when they sing.” Camila wants to know what Blake would do. “I couldn’t say no to Eric!”

“Sydney, I have never heard a voice like yours before,” Camila remarks. “Your note choices were so different and weird, and the way you slide in and out of falsetto.” But, Camila adds, “Eric, I saw you really grow as an artist and step into somebody I’m really excited to hear on the radio, see perform in shows.”

Who will Camila choose? Will there be a steal? Find out Tuesday (Oct 18) when The Voice airs on NBC at 8 pm ET.
