The Voice – Battle Round Part 3!

The Voice – The Battle Round Part 3! 4 more pairs battle it out tonight.

Am I crazy? I must be living on opposite world, because I would have chosen Rebecca Loebe and Kelsey Rey to move on. Next week, it’s the last of the Battle Rounds. Good, because this part is getting sort of old.

Team Christina is first!

Raquel Castro vs. Julia Eason – Only Girl in the World – Hm. They are both kinda Screechy McScreecherton. I think I’d send them both home. Cee lo and Black like Julia. Adam – You guys were so dead even vocally. Raquel, you just have this thing. Christina says she enjoyed coaching both. Raquel brings a lot to the stage, she loves Julia’s ad lib moments.

Team Blake is next!

Dia Frampton vs Serabee – “Can’t Hurry Love” by the Supremes. Blake thinks either one could win the battle. Reba come by to help out. Serabee has a big voice. Dia? Not so much she’s got more of a folk vibe. This “battle” stuff favors the singers with the big big voices. Blake tells Serabee not to overdo it, but she plans on “singing her heart out” anyway.  So…Dia has this weird nasally thing going on and Serabee is practically yodeling, she’s screaming so loud. Adam felt Dia was timid in comparison to Serabee. Cee Lo called the paring “bizarre”. He liked Dia. Reba thought it was cool of Dia to stay true to herself while Serabee hit all those rangy notes.  Blake doesn’t blame Dia for looking uncomfortable up there while Serabee outsang her.  Guess what? He picked Dia. Guess he didn’t like all the screaming–and the fact that she didn’t take his direction

Team Adam is next!

Rebecca Loebe vs Devon Barley – “Creep” by Radio head.  At least these two, both folksy type singers, are paired evenly–somewhat. Rebecca is the star of the two.  Adam Blackstone helps out in rehearsal. Rebecca is very excited to sing “Creep”. Devon is unfamiliar with it? REALLY? How could that be. Well. Devon just lost. Hm. Something tells me Devon is going back to med school.  Devon is OK, but Rebecca is really really shining through with the phrasing and emotion.  Adam looks happy.  Blake says, “Don’t pick one, don’t ever separate these two.” Christina thought Devon stole the choruses.  Cee Lo picks Devon because he doesn’t look like his voice. Adam says he’s split down the middle right now. Adam swears. Wow. Blake chooses Devon. That’s kind of shocking. I thought Rebecca was better.

Team Cee Lo is next!

Kelsey Rey vs Torre and Taylor Thompson – “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield – This is another one of those awkward singles vs duo matches. Cee lo and Brandy give the girls tips on harmonizing. The sisters are going to have to step out of their comfort zone. Cee lo tells Kelsey not to forget to work the room, because she’s competing against “sisterly love.” Wow. Those sisters suck. Kelsey is definitely winning this battle, even with the cracks in her voice. Adam: So much cuteness happening on that stage. I can’t pick, too cute. Blake: You’re singing so much better already. Kelsey is a more seasoned singer. I pick her. Christina would pick Torre and Taylor. Brandy says Kelsey has a self-assured thing about her. Cee Lo finds the sister’s innocence charming He picks the Thompson sisters to move on. WTF?
