Watch The Voice 7 coaches talk about the upcoming season and more on the premiere of The Ellen Degeneres Show, which aired Monday (9/8).
Gwen Stefani, who just had her third child, decided to make room on her plate for The Voice. She’s glad she did, she told Ellen, because the experience so far has been “incredible.”
The other new kid on the block, Pharrell Williams, revealed that the job offer came out of nowhere, on the heels of assisting Usher last year during the Blind Auditions. “It just felt so natural,” he told Ellen about making the decision to join the party. The producer/performer relishes mentoring new talent.
Veterans Blake Shelton and Adam Levine were up to their usual bro-antics. When Blake heard there would be new people, he confessed that he hoped it was Adam who was being replaced. “That still hurts!” pouted Adam (KIDDING!)
On a personal note, Adam shared about the joys of being newly married. When Ellen asked Blake if he and wife Miranda are planning to start a family soon, he answered with a flat out “no.” (kind of an annoying question.)
And of course, Ellen had to dissect Gwen’s Stephen Colbert Emmy gaffe.
In the second segment, the crew move outside to play a The Voice-based game that involved big red chairs. Only motorized. Yes, it was a trainwreck.
