I thought it was kind of weird that On Camera Audiences had The Voice playoffs scheduled to tape ahead of time. The playoffs have always been the start of viewer voting. I figured that the numbers would be edited in later, or something like that.
But according to Michael Slezak of TV Line, the coaches will whittle the Top 20 down to the Top 12. Live voting will begin at the Top 12.
Per last night’s @NBCTheVoice recap comments section: No Live Playoffs (and related viewer votes) in Season 6.

The Top 20 will perform. Then each @NBCTheVoice coach will narrow his/her team from 5 to 3. The Top 12 will then compete live for our votes.

I don’t comprehend the wisdom of delaying viewer involvement until the Top 12. The show has been slipping in the ratings the past few weeks. The producers need to introduce a twist, at this point, that will engage the viewers, rather than continue to keep them at arms length.
Meh.
