The Voice 3 – Top Ten Live Results

Join us as we watch two more contestants get eliminated from The Voice. Any predictions? I think it could be Trevin, Cody or Sylvia going home tonight based on the iTunes chart. Cassadee, Melanie and Amanda are almost certainly safe. I wouldn’t be upset if Bryan somehow slipped into the bottom ranks and left instead of Trevin or Bam Bam.

And here we go! Carson introduces the coaches. First, we will have a recap. The stakes are high, y’all! We had record-breaking voting. Carson mentions that Melanie and Cassadee were in the top ten of the iTunes charts.

Christina is singing “Let There Be Love” with Dez and Sylvia. Dez and Sylvia start out in her chair and push the button. ;-) Kinda cute start. This is high energy and playful.

There’s a hashtag twitter contest on a live song being performed later. Didn’t catch it because I tend to tune out when I know we’re fixing to go to a commercial.

Oh, there’s Juliet Simms from last season promoting Kia and her new video. Maybe The Voice got the memo about promoting its past contestants. We’ve also seen a promo with Jermaine Paul.

Back from the break. Adam waffles about which team he finds most competitive. He wants them to worry about about their own performances. Cee-lo defends his team’s song choices. Christina pimps her team. She also name checks Trevin’s smile and Cassadee’s emotion. Carson thanks Blake for writing the song that knocked Psy’s “Gangnam Style” out of the number one spot on iTunes. Blake said he had a few drinks after getting home. Don’t thank him. Thank Cassadee, he says.

Contestants are at center stage. The first safe contestant is Nicholas David! America has also saved Cassadee Pope! Shocker. Not.

More results and Rascal Flatts up after the break.

The songs up for twitter vote are “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” or “Want You to Want Me.” No doubt both options were ready to go, but it’s another way The Voice seems to try to engage the viewers into interacting with the show.

Rascal Flatts is singing now. I don’t like the lead singer’s voice. Never have. Cassadee and Bam Bam are performing with them. Cody is in cowboy rodeo mode now. Cassadee is reinventing herself as a country singer perhaps. I prefer both of them to this lead singer dude. Blake gives them a standing ovation.

More results: America has saved Dez! And Bam Bam!

Up now, “Crazy Little Think Called Love” by Team Adam. I like that there are lots of musical numbers during the results show. I don’t mind that the coaches take part either. This is also fun.

More results: America has saved Melanie! Again, not a shocker based on iTunes.

Team Blake and Team Christina are singing “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” based on a twitter hashtag contest. Again, I think The Voice does a good job of mixing musical numbers and results. I don’t think this has dragged on too long like some hour-long result shows can.

More results: America has saved Terry!

Commercial break.

Four contestants remain: Sylvia, Trevin, Bryan, and Amanda.

America saves Trevin! Yes! America saves Amanda!

Safe:

Nicholas David
Cassadee Pope
Dez Duran
Cody Belew
Melanie Martinez
Terry McDermott
Trevin Hunte
Amanda Brown

What did you think of the results? I’m pleased. As I said earlier, I hoped Bam Bam and Trevin would slip past Bryan and his hat. Woot! Until next week, it’s a wrap!
