The Voice 28: Trinity kicks off end of Blind Auditions with stunning En Vogue cover
The Voice season 28 Blind Auditions finally came to an end on Monday (Oct 7). The episodes have been up and down, but the final episode featured a few highlights, including the kickoff performance from Trinity, a Connecticut native and 4-chair turn.
Before she entered the stage, Trinity shared, “I’ve known my entire life that I’ve wanted to be a singer, but I used to be like very, very shy about it.”
But despite her reluctance, Trinity had a person in her corner. “I’m just happy that she gets to see me do what I love to do.” Trinity stated about her mom, her biggest supporter. The audition is a true Blind Audition as we don’t see Trinity’s face at first.
Once she hit the stage, Trinity belted out “Don’t Let Go (Love)” by En Vogue. It was evident from the start that she is a powerhouse vocalist. It’s in the softer moments that she stood out, however, as she showed off silky smooth runs and even a bit of a jazzy sound.
Niall Horan turned first, hitting his head on the red button, at which point, the camera reveals Trinity wearing a sparkly dress. She hit some huge notes as Reba McEntire and Michael Bublé turned. Finally, Snoop Dogg hit his button. It got a bit bombastic in the end, but she wa likely striving to turn the chairs showcasing her skillful vocals.
“You’re a powerhouse, so good, your singing, your runs, your range”
Reba declared that even with an almost full team, she couldn’t wait to turn. “You’re a powerhouse, so good, your singing, your runs, your range,” Reba gushed. Michael stated that Reba had a look on her face, as if the other coaches were crazy for not turning their chairs right away. He told Trinity, “I could give you a phone book and you could sing that.”
“The way you held that song down by yourself without all those backgrounds and adlibs, that’s strength,” Snoop said. He compared her to Donna Summer. He delivered a strong pitch. Niall already made a comment about how she will have great skill navigating the lives due to handling the usual group song on her own. He added, “When I turned around I was that excited that I actually headbutted the button.”

In the end, Trinity opted to join Team Bublé which is honestly a bit surprising as it seemed that the other coaches had stronger pitches this time around.
There were a few other strong singers on the final audition night, including Team Niall’s Camille Tredoux who showcased an interesting sound on the ‘70s classic “Behind Blue Eyes,” Team Snoop’s Jerrell Melton who had a refreshing song choice and a nice Broadway tone on “Go The Distance.” Finally, Team Niall’s Alex Brown delivered one of my favorite auditions of the season. He sang “How Can You Mend a Broken Out” featuring a soulful tone and impressive falsetto. Team Niall is stacked!
