Carson gets a callback, and artists choose their Battle partners

The biggest change is “The Carson Callback Card” It allows host Carson Daly to surprise a no-chair turn artist with a second chance at a Blind Audition.
In the Battles, the coaches will enlist their artists to form their own Battle pairs, instead of pairing up the singers to go head-to-head themselves. It’s a The Voice first.
During the Knockouts, each coach will have a Mic Drop button to use on an artist on their team who impresses them. Next, viewers will be able to vote for the Mic Drop winner among the four singers. The contestant with the most votes will be awarded a performance at The Rose Parade Presented by Honda on Jan. 1, 2026.
Fans vote in The Voice 28 Playoffs! However, there is a catch.
For the Playoffs, each coach will select one team members to advance to the lives, with viewers voting on a fifth and sixth finalist. Last season, each coach got to choose two contestants to advance to the Lives. That SOUNDS like good news, that fans can vote in the Playoffs again. However, it appears that the Live shows will begin with only six singers instead of eight.
The Voice season 28 premieres on NBC Monday September 22 and Tuesday September 23 at 8 pm on NBC, streaming next day on Peacock.
