The Voice 28: Watch Max Cooper III Nab a 4-chair turn with a Jazzy rendition of “Cooler Than Me”

The Voice 28 continues Tuesday night (Sept 23) with more Blind Auditions, including from Twenty-three year old artist Max Cooper III.

He opens his song, a jazzy rendition of Mike Posner’s “Cooler Than Me” at the electric piano, with a beautiful arpeggio. It’s obvious right away he’s got keyboard skills.

The singer also possess vocal talent. His voice is sweet and high and full of personality. He’s effortless. Reba turns first. Niall is next, followed by Michael and then Snoop. It’s a 4-chair turn.

Max explains to the coaches–Michael Buble, Reba McEntire, Niall Horan and Snoop Dogg–that he’s been playing piano since he was 3 years old. He learned by copying his sister’s playing, basically teaching himself.

Niall jokes that he is on Youtube learning how to strum simple guitar chords. Reba thinks Max is “super cute” and would love to have him on her team. Max’s first notes convinced Snoop to turn. Niall says, “Someone like you on the show perks ears up.”

Michael Bublé joins Max Cooper III for a duet of his song “I Just Haven’t Met You Yet.”

Max explains that he loves doing pop, but likes adding jazz elements to his arrangements. He confesses that the first song he learned was Michael’s “I Just Haven’t Met You Yet.” Welp. We know where this is going! Naturally, Michael joins Max on stage to sing a little bit of the tune as a duet. The two eventually turn the performance into an audience sing-along! Max is not intimidated at all.

When Max exhibited talent at a young age, dad knew he was something special.

It seems obvious who Max will choose as his coach, but fans will have to tune into The Voice on NBC Tuesday (Sept. 23) at 8 pm to find out for sure. The Voice also streams on Peacock next day.
