Watch TWO new The Voice season 24 promos: Meet a few 4-chair turns!

During America’s Got Talent season 18 first live show Monday night (August 22), NBC aired a couple of promotions for the upcoming season of The Voice. Season 24 is set to premiere on Monday, September 25.

NBC has been promoting The Voice all summer, but for the first time, a promo featured a first glimpse of the new artists who will be gracing our screens.

It’s worth noting that Season 24 is the first season without veteran coach Blake Shelton, the last of the OG coaches who retired to devote his time to other projects. It’s weird looking at a panel lineup without him! Niall Horan returns for a second round, while John Legend comes back after taking a season off. For those who miss Blake, his wife Gwen Stefani will take a seat on the panel this season. Carson Daly will continue to serve as host, as he has since season 1.

The Voice Will Tape Seasons 24 & 25 Blinds, Battles this Summer

But for season 24, all eyes are on country superstar Reba McEntire, who will occupy Blake’s chair both figuratively and literally. She’s taking over as the country coach, while also sitting in the chair Blake occupied for 23 cycles of the show.

“All hail the queen, Reba”

The first promo features the tag line “All hail the queen!” The queen being, of course, new coach Reba. A voice over announces, “We’ve got a queen in the building!” as she places a crown on her own head. After Niall hands her a scepter, Reba acknowledges her subjects. It’s all set to Reba singing a little ditty to the tune of “God Save the Queen.”

“I’ve had two country hits!” chirps Gwen. “I’ve had more than two,” Reba shoots back, putting Gwen in her place. “Off with his head!” Reba cries after Niall calls the tater tots she brings to set “soggy.” Also, the audience and the panel sport face framing red cardboard masks in honor of the new queen.

“A four chair turn!”

The second promo appears to featuring artists who turned for chairs. It opens with John stating, “It’s artists like you that make our show so special, before a female singer belts out a bluesy tune. Every coach hits their button. A four chair turn! “Red hot new season,” is the tagline. “Four chair turn, I’m fricking fighting right now!” Gwen declares. “You and I are winning this whole sucker,” says Reba after a shot of a female vocalist sporting a shaved head and sparkly eyeglasses. After shots of four more singers, John stands and shouts, “four chairs!” Niall says, “I would love you to be on MY team!” before imitating what Reba calls the “worst” southern accent she’s ever heard “in my life!”
