The Voice 22 Battle: Alyssa Witrado, Ian Harrison are Explosive!

Alyssa Witrado Ian Harrison The Voice 22 Battle

Watch two of Gwen Stefani’s standout team members, Alyssa Witrado and Ian Harrison fight for a spot on her team. The performance will air on The Voice season 22 penultimate Battle Round episode, set to air on Monday (Oct 24).

The two indie singers duet on a searing version of Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever,” that becomes electric half-way through the performance.

“You both are so freaking cool,” gushes John Legend afterward. He compliments both on their outfit choices. “You look like stars,” he adds. “I love that depth in your voice,” he tells Ian. “It’s so…full and has such presence.” He calls Alyssa “pretty much flawless.” adding, “Your tone was perfect for the song.” He would pick Alyssa, “only because the song was just right in her wheelhouse.”

“I felt like Alyssa stayed in her lane the entire time,” says Blake Shelton. At first, he thought Ian was “gonna be stuck down there in that…lower register.” But, “Then the bridge happened. That’s when you got the big reaction out of the room. I got to see two different versions of Ian up there, and they were both really good.” Blake would pick Ian because “of the shock factor of that.”

“If I has to pick, I would say Alyssa,” said Camila Cabello. “Just because I think performance-wise from beginning to end, you just kept blowing my mind.” She joked that she’d start a Twitter stan account for Alyssa, “AlyssaStan13.” However, Camila believes that with the right song, she could start a fan account “that’s like IanLover105.”

“Where I’m leaning right now, was not what I thought I was gonna do today.”

Gwen calls Ian’s voice her favorite kind of voice for a male. “You have so much range,” she says. “When you went to your high notes, it was as good as any alternative singer.” She tells Alyssa, “I think I want to be you when I grow up.” Alyssa initially impressed Gwen when she sang “Don’t Speak” for her Blind Audition.

Gwen has a decision to make, and she teases that “where I’m leaning right now, was not what I thought I was gonna do today.”

Who will Gwen choose? And will there be a steal? Tune in on NBC Monday October 24 at 8 pm ET/PT to find out.
