The Voice 21 Spoilers: American Idol Alums Who Auditioned! Knockout Tix

The Voice season 21 first promo: Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend

Keep an eye out for NBC announcing Battle Advisors for The Voice season 21. The Battle filmed last Wednesday and Thursday (July 28 & 29) with coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Ariana Grande. Plus, find out which American Idol alums auditioned for the upcoming season.

With the return of in-person audiences, spoilers aren’t easy to come by. But we do have a few! For instance, a handful of American Idol alums auditioned for The Voice 21.

American Idol alums who auditioned for The Voice season 21

Jeremy Rosado: Jeremy finished in the Top 13 for American Idol season 11. Judge Jennifer Lopez JUST LOVED HIM so much, the judges chose him as a wild card. Here is his performance of “Ribbon in The Sky” before viewers voted him out the next night. Jeremy had previously auditioned for American Idol four times.

Raquel Trinidad – Raquel made it to the Top 20 in Season 18 in 2019 (Laine Hardy’s season). She sang a solo of “Lovefool” by the Cardigans and a duet of “Tiny Dancer” with lovelytheband before the judges cut her.

Alex Lambert – When viewers voted out fan-favorite Alex Lambert at the Top 16, fans were pretty upset. After, American Idol creator Simon Fuller cast him in his streaming reality show, If I Can Dream, which had a bunch of artists living together in a house, as cameras tracked them constantly. The show only lasted one season. BUT DON’T GET TOO EXCITED!!!! Spoilers say he disappeared from the show early, so probably DID NOT TURN A CHAIR. Sads. Here’s a pretty great performance of “Trouble” on the Top 8 Guys performance show. It got him eliminated.

Thanks to Idol Forms for the spoilers. They have a list of teams and a few other details on the forum’s main page HERE.

The Battle Rounds Taped with a Live Audience

Despite the COVID-19 Delta surge across the country, reports say the round filmed with a live audience. However, audience members needed to prove they were fully vaxxed. Additionally, potential audience members had to test negative for COVID ahead of the taping.

Once the Blind Audition performances finish taping, NBC can reveal the celebrity mentors at any time. For new fans: For the Battle Rounds each coach brings on a celebrity mentor to help prepare performances. The coaches pair their group members up to sing unforgettable duets. Afterward, the coach keeps one member, who moves on to compete in the Knockouts. The loser is either stolen by another team member (each coach gets one steal) or saved by their coach (One save). Saved contestants compete in a four way knockout for viewer votes in the next round.

Or that’s how it’s worked in the past few seasons!

UPDATE: The show is back to 12 members per team and so far, there has not been a mention of a four way knockout.
