The Voice 27 Schedule plus HOW the season will work
The Voice 27 is shaking up their schedule somewhat this season. Tuesday shows–typically a staple of any cycle–are not scheduled until later in the season. Now, fans know why The Voice winter cycle started a month earlier (Feb 3) than usual! Here’s what to expect from the competition series in the coming weeks.
Adam Levine returns to the coaches panel after a long absence. He joins fellow veteran John Legend. Michael Buble returns for a second season. Kelsea Ballerini, who sat in for Kelly Clarkson and coached a digital version of the show also takes a chair. Carson Daly returns as host.
Blind Auditions
According to NBCInsider The Voice 27 features FIVE weeks of Blind Auditions scheduled on consecutive Monday nights. The coaches will end up with 12 singers on their respective teams resulting in a Top 48 going into the Battle Round.
Battle Rounds
For the Battle Round, coaches match up members of their teams for duets. The coach chooses one to advance, eliminating the loser. However, each coach gets one steal and one save to use during the round. Eight artists on each team or a Top 32 will advance to the Knockout Round.
Knockouts and Playoffs
For the The Voice spring cycle, The Knockouts will revert back to pairs (four pairs per team). That’s after the show featured Trios for The Voice 26 fall cycle. Each singer will select their own song to perform in front of their coach. The coach will choose one winner out of each pair. Each coach gets one steal. Five singers from each team–a Top 20–advance to the Playoffs.
For the Playoffs, the artists will perform solos and each coach will choose TWO Team members to advance to the Live Shows.
Futon Critic does a good job of figuring out network schedules for the season. Check out The Voice 27 full schedule below. NOTE: IT MAY NOT BE ENTIRELY ACCURATE. For instance, NBC posted that only Live Shows would include Tuesday episodes. But that would only involve 3 weeks? Futon has posted something different. And it makes sense. Considering the number of artists, it would take more than 16 Mondays to complete the season.
