The Voice 2 – Two Teams Compete Pt 1 – Results

Naia Kete and Charlotte Sometimes are eliminated from Team Blake
Moses Stone and Sera Hill are eliminated from Team Christina

I’m only a tiny bit surprised by these results.  I figured Charlotte Sometimes would be safe instead of Erin.  It goes to show that the iTunes rankings are not foolproof indicators of who is safe. Charlotte’s save me song was tragic.  She brought all of her tears into her performance and came off so desperate. It must be awful for contestants who have had major label deals like Charlotte to be rejected again so early in the competition. Will she soldier on?

Big lulz tonight included Naia Kete revealing that team members didn’t really choose their own songs. When Blake said he would have like to hear some reggae tonight, Naia answered, annoyed “But they wouldn’t let me…there were only so many songs.”  Blake was probably not going to save her in any case. But if there had been even a sliver of a chance, it evaporated with that verbal boo boo.  It’s back to street performing for Naia!

Moses Stone had the WHAT THE HOLY EFF moment of the night.  He auditioned initially as an MC But tonight he inexplicably whipped out some white boy HAC crap in the form of “Break Even” by the Script.  Why didn’t he rap? Isn’t that who he is as an artist? Maybe his list was filled with adult contemporary tunes. That would be one way to throw him under the bus. His performances was awful so pitchy, and so obviously the wrong song. He never seemed comfortable–not even for a moment.

Jordis Unga redeemed herself tonight after last night’s shouty, nervous performance.  Hers was clearly the best of the three teams.

I thought it was a toss up between Sera Hill and Ashley De La Rosa. But I’m not mad they picked Ashley–I think she’s got potential.

Next week, it’s Team Cee Lo and Team Adam.

On tonight’s The Voice results, the bottom 6 will sing again. Christina and Blake will save one contestant from each of their teams.

I’ll be liveblogging all the action here.

Carson will reveal the Top 6 contestants America saved. After the Bottom 3 for each team, Blake and Christina will 1 team member. Four contestants will go home tonight. The contestants will sing song of their own choosing.

Adam Levine will join Gym Class Heroes on stage tonight.

Jordis charted at #1 on the iTunes rock chart.

Blah blah recap. Blake says it’s sucks that he has to cut some one. Christina feels really upset.

Results, in no particular order.  Team Blake is up first. Erin, Jermaine and Raelynn are safe.  You can see Raelynn yell “sh*t” when she finds out she’s safe. OOPS.

Jordis Unga, Charlotte Sometimes, Naia Keta from Team Blake will sing for their lives.

On Team Christina, it’s Jesse, Lyndsey and Chris.

Moses Stone, Sera Hill and Ashley De La Rosa from Team Christina will sing for their lives.

Last Chance Performances Team Blake:

Naia Kete – “If I Were A Boy” by Beyonce – She’s all whispery and breathy on the low notes. She hits the chorus and is pitchy. Yikes.  Bye Naia.  I’m sure they are saving a spot for you at the Promenade.  Blake: You did a great job, he wished she had sung reggae. She wanted to,  “But they wouldn’t let me…there were only so many songs.” Hm.

Charlotte Sometimes – “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls  – Whoa Charlotte really looks upset and angry, and it’s seeping into her performance.  Is that a strategy? Because it may not work.  No feedback from Blake.

Jordis Unga – “Wild Horses” by Rolling Stones – If Blake is basing his decision on these performances? Jordis should be saved.  Great vocal from her–nuanced and beautiful.

Time for Blake to make his decision.  Christina, Cee Lo and Adam would all save Jordis.

Last Chance Performances Team Christina

Ashley De La Rosa – “Paris Ooh la la”  by Grace Potter – I don’t know what it is, but I kinda like Ashley. She’s a sloppy singer, but I think she’s got potential.

Sera Hill – Vision of Love by Mariah Carey – I think Sera has potential too. This is better than her performance last night.  Christina has a major poker face on.

Moses Stone – “Break Even” by The Script – Why the hell is this MC singing white guy AC crap?  Why isn’t he rapping?  That was so off key. He’s not a great singer.  I. Am. LOLLING. SO. HARD.  Bye Moses

Cee Lo would save Sera.  Adam is rambling on but eventually picks Ashley. Blake would save Ashley.
