The Blind Auditions continue on The Voice as South African native Selkii impresses the coaches with a cover of Macy Gray’s “I Try.
The singer’s unique take on the song gets both Adam Levine and Blake Shelton to hit their buttons.
Adam immediately mentions that his wife, Behati Prinsloo was born in South Africa. “My wife will kill me if I don’t get you on my team,” he said.
“You know I have never been to South Africa. I’d like to imagine that over there, you’re country because I’m looking at you with the hat and acoustic guitar,” Shelton quipped. “I’ve been doing this show for a long time and so has Adam. The only difference is I have won twice as many times.” Blake goes for the burn!
