Tonight’s high stakes–four singers will leave the competition tomorrow–meant that the Top 8 were not willing to take any risks this week. I’ll bet Aaron Gibson was ready to stick out a limb. After all, he probably knows there’s little chance to make the final, so why not go out an artist? But somehow, his coach Miley Cyrus convinced him to tackle an 80’s pop song. And to no avail–it looks like Aaron will chart well behind his fellow singers.

This week, Brendan Fletcher fell down the chart, while Josh Gallagher’s stripped back performance will give him the highest chart position he’s had all season. I am disappointed that Wé McDonald and Ali Caldwell aren’t charting higher. They delivered two of the best performances of the night. I mean, Ali could teach Billy Gilman a thing or two about vocal restraint… Just like season 7, an all male final COULD be a thing this season.
Sundance, Bill and Christian Cuevas topping the chart is what I expected.
