The Masked Singer season 7 continues, featuring panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger, and Nick Cannon as host. Nicole Byer serves as guest panelist. Fifteen contestants are divided up into 3 groups: The Good, The Bad and The Cuddly.
This week, four remaining contestants take the stage to perform for studio and panel votes. The masks include: Ringmaster (Good), Miss Teddy (Cuddly), Hydra (Bad), and Armadillo (Good). ONE WILL BE UNMASKED.
Ringmaster

Performance: Superbass by Nicki Minaj – This song is a blast from the past. Ringmaster is a contender and could win the round. The performance is even better than last week’s outing. This week’s MEGA CLUE: “I’m a 90s chick, but I’ve been songwriting for as long as I remember.” The clue is an acoustic guitar and pic embossed with “90s.” Ken guesses Taylor Swift, which everyone knows is ridiculous. Nicole B. thinks it’s Olivia Roderigo or Alanis Morissette. Nicole guesses Zara Larsson. She thinks an “X” clue from last week points to Zara. If Nicole took a second to connect the dots, she’d guess this one correctly
Prediction: The X is X Factor and Ringmaster knows Nicole because she is Hayley Orrantia, who competed on the show the season Nicole sat on the panel. She was picked to be in the country pop group Lakoda Rayne, a member of Paula Abdul’s team. She currently stars in The Goldbergs on ABC.
Armadillo
MegaClue: “I will protect…with my life.” he says. “That’s what I do for a living, I kick butt.”
Performance: I Fought the Law by Bobby Fuller Four – Armadillo can’t sing at all. He’s completely tuneless! There’s a good chance he’s going home tonight. UH OH ARMADILLO TRIPS. He gets back on his feet and resumes singing. “That was done on purpose!” he insists. Sure Jan. TMZ teased this bit all week. It’s not that big a deal. The song is credited to the original artists Bobby Fuller Four, but the guitar and drums are based on The Clash cover from the late 70s. MEGA CLUE: “So you’re the one who took my keys to the wild hog.” The clue is a motorcycle. Nicole guesses Gary Busey. Nicole B. guesses Jay Leno. Jenny guesses William H. Macy. These guesses are ridiculous.
Prediction: The internets say Armadillo is Dog the Bounty Hunter, which is probably correct.
Hydra

Performance: Sharp Dressed Man by ZZ Top – These guys are not taking the show seriously, which is entirely appropriate. The three heads is a throw off. There are only two people singing. Or “singing.” Because this is pretty bad. MEGA CLUE: It’s a deck of playing cards. “How very curious….a deck of cards that’s all jokers.” Jenny guesses Bert & Ernie. Nicole B. can’t guess, WON’T guess. Robin guesses South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Gilbert Gottfried drops in by video to say hi.
Prediction: The internets say Hydra are magicians Penn & Teller. The deck of cards gave it away!
Miss Teddy
MegaClue: “No one is going to expect me to be singing these songs.”
Performance: Tell Me You Love Me by Demi Lovato – Group B winner will be either Miss Teddy or Ringmaster. Miss Teddy brings it extra this week. She was saving it all up for this week. MEGA CLUE: She won a Grammy! It was one of the greatest moments of her career. “You learn how to survive.” Jenny guesses Gloria Gaynor. Nicole guesses Jennifer Hudson. LOL NO. Nicole B. guesses CeCe Winans.
Prediction: The internets say Miss Teddy is Jennifer Holliday.
Time to vote. The bottom two will perform in a sing-off! And of course, Armadillo and Hydra will sing off. Miss Teddy and Ringmaster will be back next week.
DUEL
Armadillo: “Walking the Dog: – The song is the clue! Both celebrities are terrible singers, but Armadillo actually edges past Hydra, which isn’t saying much.
Hydra: Two Princes by Spin Doctors – There is literally no melody here. Hydra are a pretty funny pair, though.
The panel determines who stays and who goes.
Results
Unmasking tonight is…Hydra! Armadillo is safe. He’ll be eliminated next week. One more terrible performance! Final guesses: Robin: Matt Stone and Trey Parker. Jenny: Bert & Ernie Ken: Will Arnett & Zach Galifianakis Nicole: Will Ferrell & John C Reilly Nicole B: Penn & Teller. And Nicolle Byer is correct! Hydra is…a rabbit in a hat. Heh heh. It’s actually Penn & Teller. Penn says Teller got most of the singing parts because as the silent partner, viewers wouldn’t recognize his voice.
Next week, Ringmaster, Miss Teddy and Armadillo battle it out. TWO will be eliminated.
