The Masked Singer 10 Preview: First look at singing masks, format, guest stars and more
The Masked Singer just dropped a first look video at season 10, full of commentary from the judges panel and a look at the Masked Singers who will be featured on the landmark season.
Season 10 will include 16 masked celebrities. The show unmasked the FIRST celebrity during their special post-football preview on Sunday (Sept 10). Anonymouse belted out Heart’s “What About Love” and after a slew of clues, it turned out to be pop star Demi Lovato underneath the mousey mask.
The Masked Singer 10 Preview: Who is Gazelle?
The new clip teases some of the remaining 15 celebrities, including a bit of singing from Cow, S’more, and Diver, plus a look at the “biggest costume to date Cuddly Monster. The cast reveals the format and teases guest stars and themes for the coming season.
The season 10 competition will officially begin in the previously announced premiere airing on Wednesday, Sept. 27. The competition will include an all-new format with three groups of singers, which will feature special Battle Royale semi-final episodes for EACH group.
Format tweaks include the return of Wildcards and a scaled back save
Additionally, one Wild Card will be introduced to each group. The “Ding Dong Keep It On” Bell will return in the Battle Royale semi-final episodes, where the judges can choose to save JUST ONE contestant from elimination and move them directly to the finale. (Last season, the judges could save one contestant in each of the three rounds).
Here are your season 10 themes!
Themed episodes will include “Trolls Night,” ahead of the November release of DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls Band Together; a “Harry Potter Night” episode airing the week of Halloween; and an Elton John themed episode featuring songs from his extraordinary catalog. Rounding out the season will be themes such as “NFL Night,” “One Hit Wonders,” “Disco,” “2000s Night,” “I Wanna Rock,” and “Soundtrack of My Life.”
Nick Cannon will host while Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke round out the panel. All through the season, fan favorite celebrities from previous seasons will return to The Masked Singer stage with special performances. Former contestants will also lend their hit songs to the Battle Royale semi-final competition in each group.
Season 10 competition will start Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
