Erm…I don’t think this clip from the upcoming The Glee Project is supposed to be funny but I’m laughing anyway.
The remaining contestants head out to a shopping mall wearing signs that reveal something they are ashamed of or feel uncomfortable about–similar to the “Born This Way” number from Glee–and are forced to walk around glumly lip syncing to “Mad World” as passersby pretend to stare at them.
The video is so obviously contrived that I cannot muster up any pity for these kids. Well, I feel sorry that the producers trotted them out in public like that.
The Glee cast would have looked silly wearing those gimmicky slogan shirts too if they hadn’t performed “Born This Way” with such joy and pride. Attempting to sell the contrivance with this sad-sack shiz is just not working for me.
The photo? That’s Season 9 Idol reject Sam Larsen wearing a sign that says “Rejected”. Heh.
One of the signs is blurred out. I wonder what it said?
On a happy note–it appears that Dot Jones (Coach Bieste) will be mentoring the kids this week. That should be fun.
